I bough a razer naga epic and it was refubrished and I am still waiting for it to arive, so my question is, will I get everything as I would get if I bought a new one, and will it be scratched or something??? because I paid for it 90euros, on ebay de and because it was on german I did not notice refubrished sign.... too late now anyway

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering at what price you could get a MacBook Air 11" (2011 Model) in February next year, and if it becomes outdated where to get it. My main reasoning for purchasing one will be for internet browsing, social networking, small to no gaming, homework and for music. I know many other brands have similar ones for cheaper prices but I feel more comfortable and reliant on Mac products.

Some of them said the refurbished models are the ones which has been used for approx up to 14 days and returned, and some other said they're the ones which are just returned... and some of them refused to explain in detail...

So I'm kind of too too too too confused! Please help!

I was just wondering what's the main difference between brand new MacBook Pro and the refurbished version of the same model!

@247best There's no difference between a new and an Apple MacBook Pro laptop.

The savings vary. The MacBooks with more premium components will usually get more discounts, sometimes as high as 25%. The more standard MacBook configurations will get lower.

So look at the different refurbished models. Look at the price savings. Then compare with your student discounts. It can go both ways.

@YoungPharaohTV it's up to you. buying refurbished is one way to save money. you can use that savings elsewhere. like buy ms office software, upgrade memory/hdd configuration, or even buy a laptop case.

apple certified refurbished gives you the same 1 year warranty as the new macbooks. they're practically new anyways. they come from cancelled or recently returned purchases.

I think by refurbished he means, The item has been used either as a display laptop. Or it has been returned within a very short period of time.

I've bought a refurbished ipod touch from the apple site as was really impressed with it. The quality was superb. So I totally agree with this guy. Refurbished is the way to go :) .

A refurbished product is one that was "broken" or defective from its first owner, and was returned and then "fixed" and resold. Most refurbished goods actually were never broken, but had problems that are easily fixed. For example, a lot of Blackberries can be bought refurbished because people make up stupid problems just to get the newer Blackberry ;)

No problem! Buying refurbished is usually a great idea... because mostly the refurbished products were never BROKEN to begin with :) I got a practically brand new refurbished Blackberry for $250. I did return it because I found a scratch and just bought one brand new, but for someone who doesn't care about scratches that's such a bargain.

if it's apple certified refurbished, it comes with the install/restore dvds. it's noted on apple's website on your specific product details page.

you might have been looking at refurbished macbooks elsewhere rather than apple's site. beware, other merchants might not give the dvds and their warranty might be just 30 days.

hi, i haven't had any problems with my mac thus far. i use it at home for internet browsing and word processing. does everything i expect it to do.

my experience has been good. it's definitely faster in terms of boot-up and restart. the interface is clean and easy to use. i love the mag-safe adapter as there has been several times I've tripped over the power chord. Phew.

The only thing I've done to it is add another 1GB stick of memory for a total of 2. I think the Macs today come w/ 2.

the current white macbook has updated specs such as an nvidia gpu, more memory and a faster fsb.

the video does show you what you would get if your bought the current generation of white macbooks. everything from the packaging to the stuff included should be the same, w/ exception to the apple remote. i believe apple's stopped including those with their products a while ago.

my experience with my refurbished macbook has been good. no problems. mine only came w/ 1 gb of memory, which wasn't enough for me so i added more. now it's at 1.5gb. i also bought a mini DVI adapter so that i could connect the mac to an external monitor.

note that the current generation of refurb macbooks don't come with the apple remotes.
