If anyone believes this trash is science I have some property to sell you here in Florida. Any fool that would even attempt to defend it is completely out of their mind. I have an open challenge on my website to any so called expert who can answer my specific questions. To date, none, not one high priest or altar boy has been able to answer or respond. When dogs don't respond to cookies, treats, hugs and kisses they are medicated, blamed and given up on by these sold out reprobates.
of course the dog is in avoidance. I am a positive reinforcement trainer, I even +R with food for food aggression and it works. BUT you should not get so far off life that your dog is not allowed to go through a conflicting situation and learn from it. Of course you could do this differently, but better? Most people can't manage +R because it is too complicated for them brainwise or too difficult to manage.
omg course the dog is completely stressed, it wants the chicken and doesn't have it. The dog is looking for the right way to get it, whilst avoiding eye contact and confrontation with Cesar. It's an inner conflict, that's what stresses the dog. I see not one 'calming signal'. A calm dog doesn't rush around. If it was oh so scared of Cesar it wouldn't go near him.
I think part of the reason so many people are incredulous of criticism of CM is that they have no understanding of dog communication and social signals. Once you learn to read those signals, it's hard not to realize how stressed the dogs in these episodes are. Nice vid.
Im a dog trainer and safety is more important than all these ideots feeling what the dog feels you cant!.Most dog owners have the wrong dog and we have to pick up the pieces.I dont like some of Ceaser Milans methods but lots of trainers have huge egos and no understanding of anything.
Anyone who actually believes this calming signal garbage is already at the edge of the cliff ready to fall off. Give me a break. No wonder dogs get medicated for fixable behavior issues.
@dalemk90 A dog of a friend of mine is extremely aggresive. One day the plumber came to his house and my friend warned him about the dog: The plumber said, no pro, i know how to deal with this: He opened the gate and slowly entered, the dog went to attack him but in the end they ended up being friends! There's no doubt in my mind that certain people have a gift with these creatures. No medication needed many a times and much less euthanasia.
Any dog owner who would follow this permissive trash deserves to fail. It is nothing more than owner focused feel good garbage. It is half truth and appearance driven foolishness.
@dalemk90 since the FBI, Military, Service Dog trainers follow what you stupidly call "trash" and they are succeeding, it is obvious that you are picking your ass and posting the product onto your articles and posts.
I am on a mission to expose this trash agenda for what it really is. You clowns should expect to get challenged more and more as the public begins to figure this garbage out. When you add some arrogance with indoctrination this is what you get. Ethics go out the window.
@dalemk90 what you've exposed is that you are massively ignorant of the science and when pressed for specifs you run like the little shit that you are. You are a perfect example of ignorance and arrogance.
Learning theory is being exploited and used by many who don't have a clue what dominance represents beyond this radical agenda which is responsible for dogs being medicated and destroyed. Most don't qualify the type of influence being established via learning theory / conditioning. In fact all you lame pigeons wouldn't even to be able to figure out why conditioning breaks down for some and not others. The swiss cheese trash science agenda your following is a joke.
@dalemk90, idiot, you keep making the same self aggrandizing claim. A pathetic moron like you has no business even talking about dogs. You are under the meaningful influnece of some psychotic drug because everything you spout runs counter to reality.
Here a little hint for you. When a dog rejects "meaningful influence" it is because he / she is holding power and influence via the roles. Pigeon behaviorists conveniently attempt to make it fit while ignoring what behavior issues really represent. If you actually believe in calming signals I guarantee the framework of your psychology is permissive and based on weakness.
When behavior issues fail to diminish than meaningful influence has not taken hold via role change,,,period. The behaviorist standard is based on appearances and feeling good.
@dalemk90 ...I notice that you keep spouting the same shit over and over again. Cut it with the rhetoric asshole and say something testable, verifiable, falsifiable.
Even your high priest Ian Dunbar never responded. Dogs get medicated and given up on all the time for the sake of this self focused and exploitative agenda.
I released a 18 year study which shows what a joke this trash really is. Learning theory is taken completely out of context and conditioning is exploited via appearances. I guarantee that most on here have no clue what dominance even represents or how it connects with unwanted behavior. All this trash is merely agenda fueled garbage. I have a challenge on my site for anyone to answer my specific questions regarding learning theory, conditioning and influence type.
@dalemk90 idiot your so-called study is a joke, just like you. The views you spouse are so incredibly stupid that even in the millan community forms you got reamed.
Calming signals are merely an invention from the self validating world of the pigeon behaviorist. Learning theory is taken completely out of context from those who have no issue medicating and killing dogs which don't conform to the radical agenda. This is nothing more than permissive psychology out of control. What a joke.
i think their is a common ground here with ceaser and other dog trainers ceaser is often called when the dog is near going to the shelter or worse and the owner is at their wits end in which case you may need someone like ceaser who is direct with them much like how jo frost (supernanny) is direct with the kids she deals with in which case the parents are at their wits end now if the dog is ok for the most part and just needs training ceasers method wont be needed PR is always important
@AgilityFox You have no clue what your talking about. Ian Dunbar, the high priest of the pigeon church, couldn't even answer my questions regarding conditioning and influence.
CM loves MONEY, not dogs. Its sad that his show is just a sham, and a highly edited pile of crap, that so many people believe. Watch any magician if you want to be fooled and entertained, so that dogs won't be mistreated the way he does.
People always talk smack about positive reinforcement trainers saying it doesn't work on aggressive dogs because THEIR dogs never act out. There's a reason that the dog is well behaved, BECAUSE IT'S BEEN TRAINED WITH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT. People who train with PR want a loving and happy relationship with their dogs, people who go along with the dominance theory just wants to make their dogs obey and fear them. Which one sounds healthier and less stressful?
@ChurtleSnap, a positive trainer would also never take the dog past the threshold where it is lost to its emotions. That's why you don't see the freak outs you get with Millan. Compare Millan's violent training to something like Behavior Adjustment Training. No freak outs, a lot of functional rewards.
@SpaceAudio People who truly love dogs have no reason to be jealous of him. His way of training is harmful to the dog and people who actually KNOWS anything about dogs agree. Not just fans who grovel at his feet.
I suggest you re watch this video again or look up recognizing dog behavior videos on you tube cause I think it will open your mind up to new things and understanding dogs that much better.... I know caesar has helped me immensely with my dog, and I've only just been watching his shows and picking up on tips and pointers throughout the many shows i have watched....
b) the dog that is standing by its owner, relaxed, tail down, hackles not raised, and focused on its owner?
Dog A is a nervous type possibly has a fear or aggression issue and would have a more likely chance of having your dog attacked or bitten. Dog B is relaxed focused on its owner, doesn’t care about anything else but its owner
. Its a slow process and I am still working on it with my dog but we are over coming obstacles i never thought we could reach. And if you think that caesar millan is crazy and doesnt understand the dog then you my friend dont know dogs very well..... What dog would you introduce your dog to ?
a) The one that is pacing, licking it lips, shaking, whining, attentive, tail straight up and hackles raised?
He would whine and shake and go nuts in my car when i would take him to the dog park and he would sniff a dog and lunge!!! He would never respond to commands let alone even look at me!!! He would do whatever had to be done to get that dog! Like the dog in this video has the intense focus on the chicken. Its almost like an obsessive behavior that the dog cant control and by the tsssss and touch which i learned from caesar I have been more able to manage my dogs aggression with other dogs.
then the dog would have remained in its determined state of mind to get that chicken it is modifying the behavior and using positive reinforcement when the behavior is ed on the dog was to break its focus on the chicken and guess what the dog ended up responding he focused on the trainer for a brief moment THAT is achieved... I speak so strongly about this because I have severely dog aggressive dog! He doesnt like any stranger dog and my dog has that intense focus for other dogs.
Okay, you are so crazy to mistake the stress signals for calming signals. The dog is pacing avioding caesar because the dog is more focused on actually getting that chicken than paying attention to the trainer. How are you supposed to use the clicker method when your dog is that FOCUSED on getting that chicken, nothing about the pacing and avoidance was a behavior your want reward with a treat and a click. The whole tsss and touch thing that caesar perform when you would click and treat.
@jillibean1001: I've noticed many people don't understand clicker training. You don't just put a chicken and a dog together and click. You have some work to do up front first, before putting the dog in this type of situation. Once you have stimulus under control, everything else is a piece of cake, chickens, food, whatever.
Of course the dog is showing calming signals, if he wasn't put in a submissive state he would be eating the chicken! I would like to see the maker of this video try to socialize a retriever and a chicken using a clicker!
Lol. Kind of funny how he gets intimidation/fear and submission/respect confused. And also how he chases the dog when it's trying to just get away from him. That's some great "rehabilitation" there.
@dcooper111, my dog was a "Red Zone" dog, he tried to attack(And if he could attack them he would have tried to kill them) humans and dogs. And yes, indeed, I learned him not to with a Clicker and treats. When you suggest you can't learn a dog not to kill anything with a Clicker, you really have no idea what clicker training is all about. This dog is indeed stressed, that's why he's trying to kill the chicken, and then CM stresses the dog even more. He's a hell of a good trainer indeed...
he knows exactly what signs the dog is displaying, its how a dog would react if another dog was establishing leadership in order to maintain a healthy balanced pack. once he establishes leadership the dog will be calm balanced and happy. because other people let their dog get this way cesar then has to correct its behaviour but he would never let a dog get like this himself and therefore never have to challenge the dog like this if it was raised correctly.
@dashdream That's a intresting statement you make right here:
"its how a dog would react if another dog was establishing leadership in order to maintain a healthy balanced pack."
I'm really curious how you know how a dog reacts when another dog is establshing leadership because dogs are semi-solitair. Dogs only form packs when they have small changes of survival, so how do you know if the dog is using those sings because it's frustrated(Hunger) in your situation, or because of your reason?
@claudjahbab i have studied dog behaviour all my life from pet dogs, stray dogs, documentarries on dog and wolf behaviour, books and the internet. when the person who posted this video claims cesar millan does not kno dog bodylanguage i beg to differ the dog is showing stress signalls he knows this, the same as your driving instructor knows it, but you cant go letting dogs kill anything they like and you cant let someone drive a car untill they have learnt to controll it properley!
@dashdream, but does your driving instructor hit you when you do something wrong? Would you trust your driving instructor then? Wouldn't you rather be praised when you drive well? That dogs need to teach other behavior is clear, but it's the way he's teaching them. You can use a clicker instaid (: YOU DON'T NEED TO CORRECT YOUR DOG!
@claudjahbab im not saying anything against clicker training or any other training methods but i think people who have a go at cesar millan saying he doesnt care about dogs and doesnt understand dogs needs to actually watch all his episodes he really loves dogs and the dogs he works with arnt scared of him they love him and show positive behaviour signals. watch an episode with a dog called apollo and see his compassion.
@claudjahbab comparing apples to oranges here! i had an aggessive dog tried for 2 years with 3 postive reinforcement trainers 2 of 3 said they wouldn't help me after the 2nd lesson the other stop returning my calls! In my head the meathods sounded great but in the "real world" they weren't helping at all! Meet a police K9 trainer couple months later took me him and my dog about 6months of training and with corrections here and there! Not ever dogs needs it but some DO!
@godsavesu2 What is the difference between beatings and spanking? I've seen kids with deep hematomas (pooling of blood) in the buttocks and lower back from severe spankings. Violence begets violence.
@Godsavesu2 your a fucking idiot! You should drink some poison and do us a favor. Your kids can understand every word you say so if they don't obey it's because they don't want to. A dog only understands actions and repetition if you beat it it will only fear you. I have two male pitbulls and have never beat them in any of my training. Your a fucking moron go kill yourself.
Spare the rod and spoil the child. I hate beating a child or a dog. That is bad on a lot of levels. However the child/dog has to understand that there are consiques to there actions are not all of them are plesent. You as a parent have to be dominat or the child/dog will run you over. Is there some fear invoved? Yes. Only a healthy fear that is backed by love. There has to be a balance between good fear and love.
yes i bet your dog is drinking tea with you and knows "savoir vivre".and later on you go to bed together and share your days activities.YOU BEHAVE TO A DOG AS A DOG.SNAPPING IS PART OF DOGS LANGUAGE.THATS WHAT HE DOES YOU F@K1NG BEACH!!!
yes i bet your dog is drinking tea with you and knows "savoir vivre".and later on you go to bed together and share your days activities.YOU BEHAVE TO A DOG AS A DOG.SNAPPING IS PART OF DOGS LANGUAGE.THATS WHAT HE DOES YOU F@K1NG BEACH
im getting tired of all these people on here bashing on Cesar Millan. His results are pretty hard to argue with, and sure, if you don't agree with it im sure you can find the little things to nit-pick at. Kinda what you do when you don't agree with it. But, he uses the older methods, and people just need to accept that, he does what he does, and you do what you do. Funny part is, all Cesar really says about it, is that you'll say what you say, you believe what you believe. and you keep bashing.
@AllishunsRule All he does is put a thin wire loop around the upper neck right behind the ears. Hell, any dog will do what you want with that wire there! He's a bully and an idiot! He charges outrageous prices for his lectures and dog training. He thinks he is a god. I'm a dog trainer and learned with other Disney animal trainers. Disney trainers think he is an idiot. He is a real jerk who won't listen to other trainers. You never stop learning!
@ripcalwill do you see these dogs just 'doing what he wants'? no, he has to fight them no matter the collar he uses, which he does use the original collar sometimes. and to keep what he does possible he has to charge prices, i mean, look at what he does. he travels long distances, has many many dogs to feed, a family, and he needs to keep people like you from going to publically bash him. and Disney trainers aren't the best either. and he does listen to other trainers, just check out
@ripcalwill when he worked with the Wolf Trainer. He stepped back and learned from her. just because you maybe don't agree with it, doesn't mean that he's such a horrible trainer. Some ways work for dogs, others don't. But i've watched him do amazing things that i've never seen any trainer be able to show me they can do any other way. So if you have accomplished something of the nature he has, please show me.
In case anyone is wondering just who the heck AboutDogTraing3 really is, I've had the following suggested to me, and after consideration have drawn to conclude that it is most likely the following links contain the real person behind AboutDogTraining3: Leonard "Buzz" Cecily. Excuse/correct me if I am wrong. Here are some fun YouTube links to show him hard at work:
@AboutDogTraining3 Right, well, u can keep making up nonsense stories of psycho-babble. I actually got facts from multiple sources, which I simply conveyed through posts here and there in a politically correct manner. Something u cannot seem to grasp the idea of. If u look up this person's name, he seems to have many things in common with u. For u to say that I abuse dogs, or any of the other ridiculous claims you've made, is unwarranted and just plain idiotic.Get over it, Cesar doesn't abuse.
@shellylanette, you can keep making up lies, it won't matter. There is no lie you can tell that will turn dog abuse into training. The only thing you proved is that you are a moron who can't tell the difference between the USA and Switzerland. You need to be kicked properly in order to be rehabilitated - don't worry you will love being kicked as long as it comes from a calm and assertive mind.
@AboutDogTraining3 Right, well, it is already been established that you do not make sense and are an abusive/psychotic person. Have you forgotten all the conversations we've had on here? The jig is up, dude, don't you realize that? I don't know the dif between USA and Switzerland? Why the heck do you say such idiotic things? You never even denied being the person I brought up may be you, which really makes it look more and more possible. Rant rant rant...get a new hobby, man!
What Shelly Lanette needs is to have the data brought close to her and when she acts out irrationally, kick her, maybe pin her to the ground. The again, bring the facts close to her and she screams out like a maniac, kick her and do it a thousand times until she is properly rehabilitated.
@shellylanette, facts frighten you. It means that you have no excuse to beat dogs.
"There are still huge numbers of ‘stamp and jerk’ dog trainers and whisperers at large with their choke chains, spiked collars, shock collars, rape alarms, correction sticks and bullying attitudes who haven’t chosen to move on into the humane, modern age of dog training." -- Center of Applied Pet Ethology
@AboutDogTraining3 Sorry, but it is true. Also obvious you are obsessed with Cesar because if you were not, you'd ignore this and move on to obvious and severe animal abusers to attack. They are out there, and you choose to waste time here instead. Really sad on your part. You've even accused me of being "an animal abuser" in my own "community." This also proves you spread BS, because unless you have my name, how can you have that info?I would never abuse an animal, and I do lots of rescue work.
@shellylanette, like the other Millan fan homophobes you have nothing intelligent to say. Of course under your scheme, you can beat a child, woman and uses kicking to 'rehabilitate"them.
His ideas, especially those about “dominance”, are completely disconnected from the sciences of ethology and animal learning, which are our best hope for understanding and training our dogs and meeting their behavioral needs. Many of the techniques he encourages the public to try are dangerous, and not good for dogs or our relationships with them ." --- Dr. Suzanne Hetts, a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist
@AboutDogTraining3 That Dr. is clearly wrong about dominance if she is implying that dominance plays no part in an animals daily life...which is obvious. There are bad Dr.'s around, you know, just because you spent time looking up some words doesn't mean you know your head from your butt. I'm still waiting to see your dogs, dude, show me the dogs! This Dr. clearly took dominance the wrong way, which some women and wimpy men tend to do. It scares them and doesn't make sense.
@AboutDogTraining3 Are you seriously spreading more libel about me? What is my name? You don't know it, smart ass. So, if you don't know my name, how could you possibly know what my community thinks of me? You are so fun...it's like you try to make yourself look as bad as you can! Great job, I wonder what the next self inflicted wound will be? ( ̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅[̲̅ ̲̅]̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅ ) Here is a present for you and your self-inflicted festering wounds of dignity.
@shellylanette thinks that if you kick a woman properly then you can adjust her behavior to your will without any adverse effects. That's why she thinks it's fine to kick and mistreat dogs. Under her scheme any abuse is acceptable if the abuser gets the results she wants.
@AboutDogTraining3 Great example of your abusive personality. I think you take what you do personally and then say Cesar does it. Sorry. If anyone looks on here they will so that you are the psycho abuser, and clearly disillusion. You literally put words in my mouth and can't stop cussing, name calling, and even throwing libel out there!
While this bitch, rants ad nauseum about how wrong I am. The dumb turd has never been able to come up with a single example that illustrates her point. The idiot is all empty declarations, no evidence.
@shellylanette writes that if you kick a woman properly, then you can achieve the correct behavior. It's the same rationalization she uses to justify the kicking of dogs.
I don't think he is ignoring the signs I think he does not know them at all.... he is utterly ignorant about dogs but great at making money from them and their ignorant "followers"
@claudiahoyle Only those unable to do what he does are ignorant, and they know it. So then they try to bash him because they are jealous of his ability and confidence they are lacking.
@shellylanette you are right I cannot do what he does but not because I cannot do it, anyone can use brute force, I choose to use my intelligence and to respect the dogs. And no I am not jealous, exactly why would I be jealous of?? I love what I do and I am happy doing it, I have science, years of facts and knowledge on my side, that is enough for me.
@claudiahoyle Well, your intelligence is off; just look at your response! It's like you tried to make a complete smart-ass I-won't-do-it-because-it's-abuse complete sentence, but FAILED. I also use my intelligence and respect all animals. You may be jealous because not all people portray confidence, some are push-overs, and they let it show. The dog picks up on it, and has a hay-day doing whatever it wants because the mentally-weak handler fails with treats and baby talk. What do you think?.❀◕‿◕❀

@AboutDogTraining3 Aye Aye, kaptajn Negativ Normie! Jeg kan ikke vente med at adlyde din kommando som en mishandlet hund, hvis ejer tager deres aggressioner ud på. Kan jeg få en lever behandle? Eller vil jeg bare springe misbrug og få lagt væk i min kasse for natten?
@shellylanette, bitch unlike you, I don't need to rely on poor electronic translations to engage an asshole like you in French, Spanish, English, German and Latin. So why don't you fuck off and start using Google to see if you can find some support for the shit you claim.
❄There you go again, over exaggerating events. I've only used English and two other languages on here, yet you choose to list 5. WAY TO GO OVER-EXAGGERATOR, EMOTIONAL/MENTAL OPPOSITE!❄
@shellylanette. it's true. Those of us that are not psychopaths, lacking complete empathy for another living being are not cut out to be torturers. Luckily, there are superior methods to enable behavior modification. Methods that depend on a real understanding of learning and dog behavior. Methods that have been proven effective and are used by the FBI, RCMP, CIA, dogs for the blind, and many more people who need a well trained dog.
@AboutDogTraining3 Stop being an emotional hypochondriac and realize that Cesar never abuses dogs, only helps them. Your examples are silly because they are mostly dealing with nervous and anxious dogs. Cesar can help any situation, but is best with aggressive dogs that would otherwise be put down. What do you call saving a dog from being put down? Is that abuse? If someone hugged you, you'd probably try to sue for assault! ✌
@shellylanette, any time you are willing to be kicked, post your address. I'll come over and see how well we can rehabilitate you with the patented Millan method.
@AboutDogTraining3 I'm sorry, but because you are such a weak person, that does not concern me at all. In fact, I've been wondering what to buy next as my dogs' new chew toys...perhaps your kicking legs and feet can be it? They can eat one now, and I'll make jerky out of the other one for later!
•♥•♥•♥•♥ ☜ YUM YUM, DIN DIN TIME, GOOOOOO FETCH!!! ☞ ♥•♥•♥•♥•♥•
No? Well I would offer to hug it out, but we've already established that you would consider that assault with a deadly weapon.

@shellylanette, actaully it's worst than that. You are an idiot and you have an emotional response to the facts that would interfere with your desire to harm dogs.
@claudiahoyle treat the dog as a dog. not as a human LOL. who ever said all submission is fear and stress? you ever heard of submission to a pack leader? so all non domesticated canines are suffering fear and stress... LOL.
@msminnamouse No. Do we treat our cats as fictive tigers? Do you treat your friends as apes? I know it sounds ridiculous, simply because it IS ridiculous. So why would you rather treat your dog like a wolf? Dogs simply aren't wolves. Wolves live in packs, dogs are semi-solitair. Do you know that dogs only share 21% of the bodylanguage of the wolf? And do you know dat dogs understand human signals better than apes? This might be interesting for you:
It's stressed because it wants to kill the chicken, like it did many chickens 'till Cesar came and helped. By your logic they should let it kill the chicken so it can be relieved of stress.
Fight-flight-avoidance-submission. These are the stages dogs go through. The dog was switching from one to the other rapidly. It only knew to fight/kill chickens hence the stress of not being able to. It eventually turned out to be a very successful case. Family and dog: happy.
@DeNiZ61, wrong. Predatory (ie. quiet 'aggression") is not at all stressful and brain imaging studies show that the animals find it very rewarding. The dog was happy in the end because a knowledgeable trainer was able to re-channel it's predatory desire. So dominance did not win the dog over, it was the reward of being able to do what it wanted.
@AboutDogTraining3 Wow, you just love to troll around on each anti Cesar vid. Do you ever go onto a vid you like and compliment it? Or do you simply spent your time and thoughts based on hate, jealousy, and revenge only? We are all still waiting to see your dog training success stories...or at least hear about them from you, but instead you ignore that part and just go on to spread more misguided thoughts and hate.
@shellylanette, bitch, you like to follow me around. I guess that's the only way to manage your sexual obssesion for me. But anyways bitch, get to the facts, I stated them. Do you have any evidence that what I've written about predatory aggression is wrong. Check the work of Pankseep.
shellylanette is a big animal abuser in her community, she was tried but never charged, so I for got that you don't look stuff up. You simply '"know""
@AboutDogTraining3 No, you are not special enough to follow around. The amusement of people saying Cesar abuses dogs brought me around, and then I saw your trolling self hiding under multiple yt vid bridges! Stop repeating what I say to you as if it is the first time it's been brought up. If u recall, you told me "fuck you" many times, so I told you I'm not interested many times. Now you have this to say? Come up with your own shyte at least, maybe you will get respect then.
@shellylanette, we know that a $10 is all a guy needs to have you follow him around. So bitch, everyone still waiting to demonstrate your adrent believe that I am wrong. Some evidence would be nice. Take it away bitch, despite all the accusations of trolling, it's you who makes the trollish arguments, never offering up any evidence.
@AboutDogTraining3 BTW WE ARE ALL STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO DISH ABOUT YOUR DOGS AND HOW YOU TRAIN THEM, so lets go! No? Well, suit yourself, you will never get any respect goofing around here they way you are doing now, so isn't it obvious something's gotta give?
@AboutDogTraining3 Stress is a state of mind. "Finding it rewarding" is not, whatever you think that means for an animal. Also this is a case of a dog denied predatory, not predatory. So if you suggest dogs are happy praying, than they would be easily stressed denied praying. Cesar saved yet another dog from being put to sleep. Any real animal lover would be thankful of Cesar just because he has saved tens of thousands of dogs lives, whether you agree with him or not.
As the other points you poorly addressed. The work of Swenson and Horlein demonstrates that predatory behavior is rewarding. Millan ignores clear communication from the dog, blinded by his obsession with dominance.
@AboutDogTraining3 WTF does that even mean? "Predatory behavior is rewarding"? Is "rewarding" a new feeling that these guys who google doesn't even know about made up? Dog's don't rationalize to find something rewarding. You're a fucking retard for repeating yourself. You have nothing at all to say for an argument, so you just repeated the exact same retarded post.
@DeNiZ61, what it means is that you are ignorant about dogs. And you are a double threat moron to think rationalizations are required to find something rewarding. I'm sure you can put your few brain cells to work and come up with an example of why what I've written is true.
@AboutDogTraining3 LOL, that post is you admitting you can't even come up with a fake explanation to your idiotic claim. These so called studies aren't even on the internet, which doesn't suprise me seeing that what you're saying makes no sense.
@DeNiZ61, actally what it shows is that you have no idea what you are talking about, which might be why you've been banboozled by a dog groomer who never finished high school
@AboutDogTraining3 What what shows you idiot? You're not even making basic sense. The fact that neither the people nor the studies you talk about aren't on the internet shows that I have no idea what I'm talking about? Are you high, drunk or just plain stupid?
@DeNiZ61 Good luck explaining anything to AboutDogTraining3. They are not only inexperienced, but also biased and hateful. This person had a huge crush on Cesar but realized they have no chance;now they are upset because they can't get Cesar at all, so the best thing they can do is try and convince everyone else that Cesar is no good. This person hasn't even ever owned a dog, yet for some think they are the authority on dog training and behavior bc they read some hateful misinformation.
Dogs use calming signals as a way of telling other dogs and people (though people usually do catch on) that they are no threat and don't wish to fight or challenge you. I don't think she was being submissive or intimidated. If she was intimidated she would not have approached Cesar like she did and if she was submissive she would have sat still or laid down. Cesar had claimed something she wanted ( the chicken) so she used calming signals to avoid a fight.
I don't think Cesar is ignoring the signs of stress at all. All he is trying to accomplish is getting the Lab to strop trying to eat the chicken (the Lab in this episode has gotten a hold of the owners' chickens before). Naturally the dog's going to be stressed, but you can't teach a dog to leave a prey object alone if you don't set them up and then correct the behavior. I'm all for training methods that use the least amount of force, but he hasn't actually hurt the dog in this case.
Watch Cesar COMPLETELY rehab a red zone Rottweiler who bit many humans and was going to be put down the next day (much worse than the dog this fraud Victoria has KILLED).
Rehabbed him to the point where Cesar gave the dog to his own son!

He's ignoring the signs for now because he need to explain things to these people.
@pbpatbb Yes, also the episode with Buddy the brindle AmStaff is really good to watch. It's really hard to argue with obvious improvement, yet some people still say it's abuse...it's pretty strange, but I suppose there have always been insane people around...
Poor dog, he is stuck in a room with a bully. He looks like a dog who has been hit one too many times.
I have two Guinea pigs and a budgie (who has free flight 24/7) While training my dog to be respectful of them I did not once need to poke, or forcefully intimidate him to the point he is stressed out and avoiding me. I would NEVER allow this so called "Dog whisperer" to come anywhere near my dog or do any sort of training with him.
When you are smacking a child for doing bad things, do you think he would be happy about it? no, he isn't going to be happy about it,
and when you're punishing a child for doing something bad, do you think he won't cry about it, and try to struggle? yes he will ...
that's the same thing with dogs ...
the dogs is afraid because it's difficult to accept new rules, and yeah, that's what ceaser milan is doing, so stop talking crap about it, and start see what miracle he's doing!
@Mickycond86 That is idiotic. Please do your own research (watching The Dog Kicker reruns is not research), before supporting animal abuse. Any idiot can beat a dog into submission. Lets see you try those bully tactics on a bear, or Lion, or an animal that would rather bite your face than take the abuse. Please try non-force methods! Your methods are outdated at best - totally insane at worst. And please, please, please never hit a child. Why overpower when you can outsmart, ya coward?!?
@theguythatcouldfly You are ignorant. Watching Dog Whisperer is by no means research. How would you know that Cesar "beats" dogs? Oh, right... you watched the show. Do some reading. His last book combats skeptical people like yourself and explains his system. He uses force as a LAST resort! If you watch, listen, read closely you will see that Cesar uses rewards and positive based methods the majority of the time. The dog does something, he gets a reward. Simple. Don't make snap judgments.
@Giggles154242 Learning from humans that have more experience and education is how we all learn, unless you're a coward that likes to kick dogs. There is no need ever, and I do mean EVER, to use force. I call it a kick, because I can read the dictionary. I read peer-reviewed articles that expose Cesar as the mid-evil bully he is. Your methods have nothing to do with science. Positive training is not a diet to be used on occasion. It is a way of life that has no room for kicking. EVER!
Giggles - the difference is, if another dog uses positive punishment on a dog, it doesnt MATTER if the two dogs avoid one another from there on. We want our dogs to like and trust us, NOT fear us, therefore the use of techniques such as Cesars are not appropriate and not effective. I have seen dogs offer body language to a growling dog that says 'I am no threat, I will leave you alone' - that is the dog version of offering a cookie! Cesar is NOT a pyschologist of any
I'm a great millan admirer but in this case I think he blew it.

of course the dog is in avoidance.
Roswitha1231 1 month ago
omg course the dog is completely stressed, it wants the chicken and doesn't have it. The dog is looking for the right way to get it, whilst avoiding eye contact and confrontation with Cesar. It's an inner conflict, that's what stresses the dog. I see not one 'calming signal'. A calm dog doesn't rush around. If it was oh so scared of Cesar it wouldn't go near him.
toerdelsaur 1 month ago
I think part of the reason so many people are incredulous of criticism of CM is that they have no understanding of dog communication and social signals. Once you learn to read those signals, it's hard not to realize how stressed the dogs in these episodes are. Nice vid.

There's no doubt in my mind that certain people have a gift with these creatures. No medication needed many a times and much less euthanasia.

i think their is a common ground here with ceaser and other dog trainers ceaser is often called when the dog is near going to the shelter or worse and the owner is at their wits end in which case you may need someone like ceaser who is direct with them much like how jo frost (supernanny) is direct with the kids she deals with in which case the parents are at their wits end now if the dog is ok for the most part and just needs training ceasers method wont be needed PR is always important

ChurtleSnap 3 months ago 2
@ChurtleSnap, a positive trainer would also never take the dog past the threshold where it is lost to its emotions. That's why you don't see the freak outs you get with Millan. OR
b) the dog that is standing by its owner, relaxed, tail down, hackles not raised, and focused on its owner?
Dog A is a nervous type possibly has a fear or aggression issue and would have a more likely chance of having your dog attacked or bitten. Dog B is relaxed focused on its owner, doesn’t care about anything else but its owner
jillibean1001 3 months ago
. Its a slow process and I am still working on it with my dog but we are over coming obstacles i never thought we could reach. And if you think that caesar millan is crazy and doesnt understand the dog then you my friend dont know dogs very well..... What dog would you introduce your dog to ?
a) The one that is pacing, licking it lips, shaking, whining, attentive, tail straight up and hackles raised?
jillibean1001 3 months ago
He would whine and shake and go nuts in my car when i would take him to the dog park and he would sniff a dog and lunge!!! He would never respond to commands let alone even look at me!!! He would do whatever had to be done to get that dog! Like the dog in this video has the intense focus on the chicken. Its almost like an obsessive behavior that the dog cant control and by the tsssss and touch which i learned from caesar I have been more able to manage my dogs aggression with other dogs.
jillibean1001 3 months ago
then the dog would have remained in its determined state of mind to get that chicken it is modifying the behavior and using positive reinforcement when the behavior is ed on the dog was to break its focus on the chicken and guess what the dog ended up responding he focused on the trainer for a brief moment THAT is achieved... I speak so strongly about this because I have severely dog aggressive dog! He doesnt like any stranger dog and my dog has that intense focus for other dogs.
jillibean1001 3 months ago
Okay, you are so crazy to mistake the stress signals for calming signals. The dog is pacing avioding caesar because the dog is more focused on actually getting that chicken than paying attention to the trainer. How are you supposed to use the clicker method when your dog is that FOCUSED on getting that chicken, nothing about the pacing and avoidance was a behavior your want reward with a treat and a click. The whole tsss and touch thing that caesar perform when you would click and treat.
jillibean1001 3 months ago
@jillibean1001: I've noticed many people don't understand clicker training. You don't just put a chicken and a dog together and click. You have some work to do up front first, before putting the dog in this type of situation. Once you have stimulus under control, everything else is a piece of cake, chickens, food, whatever.
AgilityFox 2 months ago
Of course the dog is showing calming signals, if he wasn't put in a submissive state he would be eating the chicken! I would like to see the maker of this video try to socialize a retriever and a chicken using a clicker!

He's a hell of a good trainer indeed...

he knows exactly what signs the dog is displaying, its how a dog would react if another dog was establishing leadership in order to maintain a healthy balanced pack. once he establishes leadership the dog will be calm balanced and happy. because other people let their dog get this way cesar then has to correct its behaviour but he would never let a dog get like this himself and therefore never have to challenge the dog like this if it was raised correctly.
dashdream 5 months ago
@dashdream That's a intresting statement you make right here:
"its how a dog would react if another dog was establishing leadership in order to maintain a healthy balanced pack."
I'm really curious how you know how a dog reacts when another dog is establshing leadership because dogs are semi-solitair. Dogs only form packs when they have small changes of survival, so how do you know if the dog is using those sings because it's frustrated(Hunger) in your situation, or because of your reason?
claudjahbab 4 months ago
@claudjahbab i have studied dog behaviour all my life from pet dogs, stray dogs, documentarries on dog and wolf behaviour, books and the internet. when the person who posted this video claims cesar millan does not kno dog bodylanguage i beg to differ the dog is showing stress signalls he knows this, the same as your driving instructor knows it, but you cant go letting dogs kill anything they like and you cant let someone drive a car untill they have learnt to controll it properley!
dashdream 3 months ago
@dashdream, but does your driving instructor hit you when you do something wrong? Would you trust your driving instructor then? Wouldn't you rather be praised when you drive well? That dogs need to teach other behavior is clear, but it's the way he's teaching them. You can use a clicker instaid (: YOU DON'T NEED TO CORRECT YOUR DOG!
claudjahbab 3 months ago 8
@claudjahbab im not saying anything against clicker training or any other training methods but i think people who have a go at cesar millan saying he doesnt care about dogs and doesnt understand dogs needs to actually watch all his episodes he really loves dogs and the dogs he works with arnt scared of him they love him and show positive behaviour signals. watch an episode with a dog called apollo and see his compassion.

@shellylanette thinks that if you kick a woman properly then you can adjust her behavior to your will without any adverse effects. That's why she thinks it's fine to kick and mistreat dogs. Under her scheme any abuse is acceptable if the abuser gets the results she wants.

@1234sweetpeas 'treat the dog as a dog. not as a human'
Cesar Millan treats the dogs as a fictive wolf. So in that case I'd rather treat my dog as a human.
claudjahbab 4 months ago
@claudjahbab So, we should treat our domesticated dogs as fictive wolves and act, ourselves, like a dog, an alpha dog. Makes sense to me! ???
msminnamouse 3 months ago

DeNiZ61 7 months ago
@DeNiZ61, wrong. Predatory (ie. quiet 'aggression") is not at all stressful and brain imaging studies show that the animals find it very rewarding. The dog was happy in the end because a knowledgeable trainer was able to re-channel it's predatory desire. So dominance did not win the dog over, it was the reward of being able to do what it wanted.
AboutDogTraining3 6 months ago

shellylanette 6 months ago
@AboutDogTraining3 Stress is a state of mind. "Finding it rewarding" is not, whatever you think that means for an animal. Also this is a case of a dog denied predatory, not predatory. So if you suggest dogs are happy praying, than they would be easily stressed denied praying. Cesar saved yet another dog from being put to sleep. Any real animal lover would be thankful of Cesar just because he has saved tens of thousands of dogs lives, whether you agree with him or not.
DeNiZ61 6 months ago
@DeNiZ61, you are wrong, dogs don't 'PRAY'
As the other points you poorly addressed. The work of Swenson and Horlein demonstrates that predatory behavior is rewarding. Millan ignores clear communication from the dog, blinded by his obsession with dominance.
AboutDogTraining3 6 months ago
@AboutDogTraining3 WTF does that even mean? "Predatory behavior is rewarding"? Is "rewarding" a new feeling that these guys who google doesn't even know about made up? shellylanette 6 months ago
ProphetGuardian 7 months ago
I don't think Cesar is ignoring the signs of stress at all. All he is trying to accomplish is getting the Lab to strop trying to eat the chicken (the Lab in this episode has gotten a hold of the owners' chickens before). Naturally the dog's going to be stressed, but you can't teach a dog to leave a prey object alone if you don't set them up and then correct the behavior. I'm all for training methods that use the least amount of force, but he hasn't actually hurt the dog in this case.
JforceObedience 7 months ago
Watch Cesar COMPLETELY rehab a red zone Rottweiler who bit many humans and was going to be put down the next day (much worse than the dog this fraud Victoria has KILLED).
Rehabbed him to the point where Cesar gave the dog to his own son!
Dog Whisperer Season 6 Episode 10 (just google this and you can probably watch it online)
DO THIS, then you can criticize.
He's ignoring the signs for now because he need to explain things to these people.

I would NEVER allow this so called "Dog whisperer" to come anywhere near my dog or do any sort of training with him.

and when you're punishing a child for doing something bad, do you think he won't cry about it, and try to struggle? yes he will ...
that's the same thing with dogs ...
the dogs is afraid because it's difficult to accept new rules, and yeah, that's what ceaser milan is doing, so stop talking crap about it, and start see what miracle he's doing!
Mickycond86 9 months ago
@Mickycond86 That is idiotic. Please do your own research (watching The Dog Kicker reruns is not research), before supporting animal abuse. Any idiot can beat a dog into submission. Lets see you try those bully tactics on a bear, or Lion, or an animal that would rather bite your face than take the abuse. Please try non-force methods! Your methods are outdated at best - totally insane at worst. And please, please, please never hit a child. Why overpower when you can outsmart, ya coward?!?
theguythatcouldfly 9 months ago
@theguythatcouldfly You are ignorant. Watching Dog Whisperer is by no means research. How would you know that Cesar "beats" dogs? Oh, right... you watched the show. Do some reading. His last book combats skeptical people like yourself and explains his system. He uses force as a LAST resort! If you watch, listen, read closely you will see that Cesar uses rewards and positive based methods the majority of the time. The dog does something, he gets a reward. Simple. Don't make snap judgments.
Giggles154242 9 months ago
