That's just the way the game was programmed. I have an electronic handlheld version of TPIR from 1998 (the year it came out) and it didn't award a bonus spin for the second spin being $1 either. What intereted me though is that when you got $1 on the first spin, the bonus spin did something the show did not: it took the spin and multiplied the number by 10 to award the prize money if it wasn't 5 cents, 15 cents, or $1. So, 95 cents means $950.
omg

thats not how it goes, if you spin and get 100 your automatic win to the final shocase showdown, and you get a bonus spins.

lol, Edward's wearing a necktie and a jacket on the show.....a sharp contrast to what most of the PIR constestants of today wear.

-No way is that first showcase worth only $5,000...failure to adjust for inflation FTL
-Take Two should have two chances
Yeah, I'm glad I didn't live in the GameTek era (Though MS-DOS was no better.)

@tpirrules19a
Well, inflation wasn't that bad back then....

What a horrible game this was.
-No bonus spin on $1.00
-Getting $1.00 should end the spinner's turn, and in SD1 the last spinner should not have the option to spin again...going over causes what then???
-Whoever made the AI had to be on drugs...$2,000 for a car??? Not even in 1990...
-All the female contestants look like they have PMS
-The wheel barely goes all the way around...nor should the wheel start on the $1.00 for the second spin
-What's with the Grocery Game play? How are 0 items picked?

This game has the most godawful version of the TPIR theme song I have ever heard.
Also, why do all the women players in the game look angry?

I had this game when I was seven... and it quit working after a week! I was so pissed, man... The Card Sharks PC game did the same thing, also.

Nice. I used to have it on an old PC and it ran way too fast (e.g. In Range Game, the range-finder would zip to the edge right after it began).

That SCSD is werid, it didn't spin all the way around & the second contestant had the $1.00 but want to spin again.
