mcgurk's comedy is really well-written (as bad comedy). any lesser show would just have given him straight-up bad jokes that didnt make any sense and got cheap laughs out of that. but his jokes are based on theoretically funny, typical stand-up-ish observations and premises. they're just really clumsily, amateurishly delivered and phrased. jon benjamin gets a lot of the credit for doing the crappy delivery obviously
