JJ is one of the great American popular singers. We are blessed with his rich, warm high-baritone, supported by outstanding vocal technique, musicianship and musical intelligence. Also what every fine singer demonstrates: attention to the sounds of words, how vowels and consonants relate to one another:) -
This is the first time I've ever heard this song, and it's awesome! Jack Jones can certainly belt out a song. I have a personal favorite song of his, and it's called "Call Me Irresponsible", and I can hear it over and over, and this song is Beautiful! Thanks so much for posting such a beautiful and classy song by such a classy guy like Jack Jones. May I also add that the video is outstanding! I sure would like to see Jack in concert. God Bless!
@Beautifulmusiclistnr My personal favorite of this extremely talented singer also is "Call Me Irresponsible". Lucklly there are 2 good versions of it on you-tube.He certainly was a very underrated singer. His type of singing, sadly was losing favor after the mid-sixties. Class & talent are no longer prerequisites for stardom!
@450984 I agree class and talent are no longer prerequisites for stardom. I was thrilled yesterday when I heard the song "Call Me Irresponsible" by Jack Jones on the radio. I'm obviously out of town because God knows there's not a decent radio station where I live that plays beautiful music. It's all trash where I live except for this one Christian station. You're right. Jack Jones was very underrated. I always enjoy hearing his songs.
@lifeisonehugedream Are you sure it's called "By the light of the Full Moon"? I'm familiar with "By the light of the Silvery Moon" and Doris Day sang it, and Howard Keel and Doris sang a duet together in the movie "Calamity Jane" from the 1950's, but it was a different song. I'm sorry I wasn't much help. Thanks
Oh my GOD ..thank you for posting...this is an amazing mosaic What a GOD .given.voice, emotion, and sooooooooo handsome...there goes the rest of my chores day...this will feed me all day and more...just don't make 'em like this any more...
Jack Jones...I have listened to Jack Jones and have seen him in concert...my heart melts...memories stir my heart...the musicians... absolutely in perfect time complimenting his voice to perfection.
Jack is a consumate artist. He can swing when he wants but his love songs really touch my heart and bring back a flood of memories. Some good, some not so hot.
Jack I love your work, you are great. Carry on. Rango8
JazzRocks, no you listed the right ones for the romantic ballad type of singing, you just left out Johnny who I feel is either the best or right up there behind whoever the best is. No controversy meant on this just wanted to get Johnny on the list.
Truly one of our best Pop/Jazz vocalist of our time.Jacks Vocals is so pure & powerful, a fine Smooth Baritone..5 *****...Marc Jones- Vocalist..Los Angeles,U.S.A.
I was first introduced to Jack Jones music when I was a mere child. My mom bought me a Jack Jones album record on the bargain table when I was five years old. I can't remember much about it but I do remember the name. I do remember how great a voice he had.
I was introduced to Jack Jones and his music by my mum in the mid 70's and I still adore him and his voice. Magic! My favorite album was 'TOGETHER' and I can't find it anywhere. Have'nt heard it since.
Truely one of the most under rated singers of the 20th century. I say that in comparison with Tony and Frank. He got me through the Army in the early 60's.
Thanks for posting this tribute to Jack and all the info about him,i have been a big fan since way back, there are to my mind only 3 singers still around whom can sing a standerd song,Bennet,Mathis,Jones, todays singers will always be second best.
Handsome bugger wasn't he?,,,,all that AND that great voice. He sure lucked out!

You damn right. In front of an orchestra. I could've died of starvation if that concert would've gone on forever.
