I know - hilarious! Not to mention 'I've never 'ad so much fun since the May Blitz (!)'. Sounds just like something my late Grandma might have said, bless her!
Don't know the theme tune but I have bought 3 series of Hold Your Plums on CD from BBC Merseyside. Just ring and order them by post. Thye're really inexpensive for the hours of enjoyment you get out of them. All the favourites are on there... brilliant!
Doe's anyone know what the theme music was called on Hold Your Plums, okay not sure if it was the offical theme but it was a catchy tune with no words but was similar to the Captain Pugwash tune, a sea shanty type tune. Thanks
I have got about 50 episodes of this show on audio cassetes. i would post some of them but i dont know how to convert audio tapes to mp3 . i tried but it was really quiet .
This is what I miss sooooo much about Liverpool. Put on the witch's shoes: There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place...
here's a question for any brits out there (or aussies or anyone else that drives on left). since ur on the other side of the car and shift with your left hand, is the shift pattern reversed from that of a right drive car? would first gear be to the left and up?
The gear pattern is identical: first gear is left (away from you) and forwards. The pedals are still CBA. Imagine a left hand drive car with the steering wheel and pedal box moved over to the right
I don't suppose you have the ones of Terry "van of bulls" the "sucker manager" or my favourite with Eilean from St Helens and her lad Geoffrey trying to guess "puff the magic dragon".......priceless
idiot, this show is genius! Love it. I am from London but half my family are from Chester/Liverpool, this bloke has no idea of what a real sense of humor is.
Hi... this is great! I found this today and i have laughed my head off! I am from Germany and i love this british sense of humor so much! Please post more of this! Thanks for posting!
cant wait there just a laugh !!!!!!!!! not heard the hitler 1, az ur mum or dad heard of the old lady eileen & son jeffery ? they r boss, i wud luv to hear them again !
I've just listened to them today! Hilarious..."what would the queen be called if she were a fella? Jeffrey: "the queen mother?" I love this show but not everyone does...to each their own.
PLAESE PLEASE PLEASE can you put some more of these on youtube! I used to listen to this every week! ps does anyone remember the one about the potato??
Quite a while ago I saw Wally Scott in the Heritage market on the Dock Road in Liverpool. As far as I know he still does the big stage shows with Billy Butler.
Growing up I spent every Sunday morning listening to Hold Your Plums. Wally Scott and Billy Butler were brilliant. Please, if possible, post more of these. Fantastic.
Hold Your Plums! Fantastic. Billy Butler and Wally Scott were superb. I had this taped and sent to me in Aberdeen. The potato woman was the best. Spuds! Thanks for posting.

There are two countries, the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Medeasbiggestfan 2 years ago
wtf . uk drives on the right. dum dum
mpkennedy08 2 years ago
In the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland they drive on the left-hand-side of the road.
Medeasbiggestfan 2 years ago
ya i know, but the driver is sitting on the Right. Right hand Drive . Correct ?
mpkennedy08 2 years ago
That is correct, but I never said they didn't.
Medeasbiggestfan 2 years ago
No, that's wrong.
If the driver is driving on the left side of the road, and the steering wheel is on the right side, it's left hand drive.
If the driver is driving on the right side, and the steering wheel is on the left side, it's right hand drive.
You see now?
Coonshake 1 year ago
nice try guys...
UK, ROI and Cyprus drive on the left, and use Right hand drive cars.
Try typing 'Right hand drive' into google images and see which side the steering wheel is on. (this works for left or right!)
