  • She is the most beautiful opera singer ever!

  • @teleblanx Anna Moffo was also very beautiful.

  • Is this from a cd or live performance?

  • @NannerlSullAria

Studio version of the full opera recording

  • The pedophile monster will him be with anger spinning in his puddle of mud and shit, when him read and will know the many honors and awards than won Anna Netrebko.

  • Certified Intergalactic! Definitely worth listening and watching.

  • Quatsch!

  • geh selber in Rente,

  • This is the First time I can honestly say she has a breath taking ability in her singing alone.... especially in her bel canto recordings

  • arturo8402, you should listen to her other videos. She is the quintessential diva. None of the "greats" were the quintessential divas. Their carreers were troubled by personal problems. Their voices were not versatile. They had to specialize but Anna doesn't specialize. She is perfectly comfortable in singing effortlessly all the roles.

  • Not quite, her Lucia is not good, her Sonnambula is somewhat sloppy. She is good as Mimi, Violetta and the Russian roles. There have been far more versatile singers, such as Montserrat Caballe and Maria Callas. The thing is, usually in bel canto her coloratura is sloppy, specially in later years.

  • Thats the thing...I HAVE listened to other recordings of her, and they have all left me wanting more, especially her attempts in the bel canto rep.

  • arturo8402, you should hear her live because it's 10x the better.

  • hello people, please be aware that thugman30 is a maniac who bashes and insults Netrebko on every page. He does not understand anything in singing, he is in jail now and hates all that brings beauty and love. I hope he is doing a long time.

  • Wow! I usually am disappointed by Netrebko (I probably have a reputation as a "basher," though that is not my intent) but this is quite lovely. Hopefully this means she is going to get her act together, patch up her technique and start making good decisions about repertoire. Looking forward to her Mimi and Antonia from the Met broadcasts next year. (She's JUST singing Antonia, right? If she tried Olympia it could be a disaster!)

  • I'm more worried about her doing Anna Bolena in 2011

  • There is nothing to worry about. Her voice is perfectly capable of it.

  • Never heard her singing with weight on the low register, so I'm not sure.

  • She is not a mezzo, her low register is not expected to be big.

  • I don't like her singing of Italian repertoire at all, but this is one of the rareties worth listening, well done Ana!!!

  • If only Juan Diego Florez had joined them, it would have almost been the modern Sutherland/Horne/Pavarotti trio, not that that trio will ever be knocked from its number 1 all time greatest spot!!!!

  • I can't wait to get this recording!!!!!! I own the Mei/Kasarova, Sills/Baker, and Ricciarelli/Montague sets, but I think the Netrebko/Garanca combination is going to be the best!!! Netrebko's voice sounds so velvety and plush, while Garanca sounds so rich, full and ardent.

I'd go so far as to say, this is Netrebko's best recording contribution to opera!

  • I agree it was stronger, especially the young Sutherland. But, Dame Joan's lower register got stronger later. There is a posted video of her Lucrezia Borgia here on Youtube. An Australian performance in1977 I believe. Not the Covent Garden performance in 1980. Listen to her low Bb in "Era desso il figlio mio". You might be surprised.

  • I've listened to her "Norma", and her Anna Bolena. Her low register was never strong, it was very much like Gruberova's.

  • I hear traces of Caballe in the lowers areas, and even June Anderson in the upper middle and upper register. There is a slight nasal quality at times, which Callas had, but Sutherland never did. A very interesting voice in any case.

  • Caballe had a far stronger lower range though, her low Bb was much much stronger than Sutherland's.
