  • thanks for viewing

  • for those that ' cry b-fanatics most of any navel engament involves evasive monuveres, expecily when out numbered or working with a ....i can't believe this a "second rate battleship" only doing 6 or whatever knots with zero stering and serounded by the royal navy.....come on...if in a few minetes i didn't take out another pride of the british navy i would have scutled too let aloan be less than target practice with all my crew aboard.....WAKE THE F--- UP TO REALITY F--- WHAT THE VICTORS WRO

  • i always found it funny how the bismark took out the hood and then the british sent almost all of their navy to destroy her...

  • Thank You for spelling Bismarck correctly!

  • The ship was crippled and its uppers were out of action, a sitting duck. Three underwater forensics investigations of the wreckage have determined that the ship sank by sabotage, i.e. the crew scuttled the ship as to not let it fall in the hands of the Brits. There was no damage extensive enough below the waterline that would have made the Bismarck sink by shell damage alone.

  • @jlzimmerman And that in itself, means the Bismarck fregg'in ROCKED!!

  • The actual sinking seems much too fast. I can imagine that the video would become to long if you want to depect it all in real time, but hard cuts would have been better instead of speeding up the sinking.

Nice model of the ship though.

  • However with war comes a race in advancing technological developments,Amazing feats & discoveries,The power of invention.Case in point. If not for Germanies work with the VI & VII rocket bombs then the development of NASA space flight program may have been somewhat different.

  • I served in the Royal New Zealand Navy.I hold any Navy with the highest respect.Putting all arguments aside as to who's better & whos best War is war!For what ever reasons & cause its never a good thing. The end result is always the same.It only leads to death & destruction.Regardless as to whom was the more technologically advanced & superior. To all those galant sailors who only followed orders & served & died for their country may they rest in peace.

  • Bismark sank about 1035 following a loud internal explosion (note...an explosion, not explosions) [Chronic des Seekrieges by Rohwer and Hummelchen] Demolition charges?. They would not be loud and there would be more than one. But even given that she was scuttled (more than likely) just ask why...because she was finished. And who finished her.........?

Trivia question...Who was Parsifal? (lets lighten up a bit!!!)

  • Ahh the Famous SuperNazi Heil HEil

  • its from single mission *bismark*

    in silent hunter 3

:) wich i finished yet sadly bissy sunk

  • have u made this video ore is it a game?

  • Scuttled or sunk?... lets see:

The order of abandon and sink was given at 0935, (and in this moment wwe open the kingstons, and detonated demolition charges in the bottom of the ship) when the british warships still werw firing.

Admiral Tovey, said : She can´t be sunk with guns

When the torpedoes of Dorsetshire arrived, (about 10:00) the Bismarck was sinking yet. This torpedoes only made quicker the sinking

All warship in the same conditon than Bismarck

gives the order :"abandon and sink"

  • 1800 lbs per shell.

  • HMS Rodney i think you will find , not the Nelson

  • why did i got the feeling of this video could came from the Silent hunter game sinlge mission :P

  • Hm... big mistake with the turrets... they are only hold by gravity... and immediately fell out... they were later found some km away from the rest... still showing some 30 m height...

  • ???why the crap would anyone care if a turret stays connected to the ship after it has capsized and sunk? Why would that be an engineering concern in any way. Think, for goodness sake.

  • a bomb went down the smoke stack

  • Screw you WMG! Is ruining other people's work any better than them borrowing a soundtrack for a FAN MADE NOT FOR PROFIT OF ANY KIND video? Sue yourselves!

  • Era of the mighty battleships certainly ended with WWII.

Bismark, Hood, & Yamato lifes all ended so quickly.

All of these ships and their crews were impressive. Have some respect. Most of their crews ended up in a watery grave (especially the HMS Hood).

BTW, in this video the turrets staying on while Bismark is sinking is nonsense. Those are mostly held in place by gravity.

  • Stop arguing and insulting that legendary ship u stupid fuck arsses!!!! respect all the marines who died in those battles, the ones from the Hood and of course the heroic crew from the Bismarck; it rly doesnt matter if germans did sank it themselves, she was overrated and overpowered for HALF THE RN, NOTHING ELSE NOTHING MORE, she did their best and is the greatest battleship ever built, that is all, stop the flames.

  • @elgranfox Obvious you know little about battleships first therewas only 2 classes of battleships built, Yamato and Iowa, bismarck was not super battleship. Second battleship classes better then bismarck KHV, Vanguard, Yamato, Littorio, Yamato, Richeliu, North Carolina, South Dakota, Iowa.

  • @jers59

You are stupid and have no plan about the story.

The Bismarck was sunk by your own crew.

The crew had the order to destroy the cooling water entrances.

    This happened at 10 o'clock.

Learns the story before you want to make clever comments here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes that yankee is stupid!Let the NEUTRAL NATIONS talk! Bismarck was the BEST, far away the most beutiful, comparing with those acuatic FRIED sausages as Iowa. Hitler decided that battleships were not important as UB, that´s why didn´t reform the Tirpitz, if you think the others were better due the 40 cm guns, think (if you can)that Nazis could place the DORA 800 mm on board!evenROCKETS! the same ones the domn yankees use today! :)

  • Once I get a CAD program running I will put the alternate designs of the Bismarck out on CAD drawings. First will be the orig. reform, with 8 x 420mm L/48.5 mains (16.5"), and 52,300t. Then, my design comparitave with IJN Yamato class (with classic Bismarck looks, of course! remember this is a German ship!) I am going to run out of space here.. I will put it on another message.

  • News for you the Bismarck does not compare to South Dakota, Yamato ot Iowa class, Richeliu, KGV

  • with the orignal desighn (1935) yes, of course it doesent! IDIOT! but that is just for the Yamato & Iowa classes. Bismarck can still stand up to the Richeliu & KGV to any degree. Your mouth is far bigger than your brain!

  • drak you moron The Richeliu was much better BB then Bismarck it had more advanced torpedo defensive system the best ever installed on BB it had more powerful 15 inch guns better armor, that was similiar to Iowas with outer shell of STS. So keep your dumb mouth close

  • It is obvious that not only do you not know about ships, but guns (cannons) as well. Bismarck had L/48.5 Krupp with an extremely well balanced spin. Richeliu had L/45.0 with decent balance, but NOT like Bismarck. I think you cannot get it through your thick skull that the Krupp armor was one the best, even a lot of American desighners said. and as far as telling me to keep my "dumb" mouth closed- come here and tell me that JERKOFF!!

  • It is a well known fact that the crew did in fact scuttle the Bismarck. It was for to prevent it falling into the unclean hands of the brits. And, the worst part for the head jerk here, jers59 is the fact that only 5 parts of the main armor (not minor) on Bismarck was actually penetrated. This was a shock to the film crew of James Cameron filming for Robert Ballard in the Docu.. Out of the 3000+ shots of all sizes shot at Bk., only 730 were hits and less than half (300) really did anything.

  • Some of the thickest steel on a battleship is on the turret ring. On the Cameron and other videos there are several shell tracks trough the turret ring, The 16 shells of Rodney could penetrate any part of Bismarck, the reason she didnt sink immediately was due to close range and Rodney hitting the superstructure. The basic fact of the matter is you cant scuttle a sinking ship. End of discussion.

  • I'm sorry to correct you , I 've been studying warships since I was 6. The turret ring was not a "defendable" place. One of the thickest plates on the Bismarck is the turret faces. That is where the barrels "poke" out of the main turret. All four turrets were taken out due to the top and sides being penetrated. and not to mention hits going through the barbette "risers". Of course, again, nobody seems to want to look at the fact that the Bismarck had to take on 6 ships at the same time!

  • For the shell to pass at an angle through the turret ring it must fist pass through the turret? The Cameron film clearly shows shell tracks at about 20 degrees. The Bismarck didnt hit a single ship in her final engagement, surly not only due to lack of steering but also her main armament being knocked out so quickly.

  • ok, turret ring you are fixated on. not the critical face plating, ok, ok, ok. And everyone seems to glaze over the fact that the Bismarck had to take on 6 ships, but had to do it with a rudder jammed into the center screw, reducing speed to 12kts, and of course, no steering. How many times do I have to say that? Prase copy&paste!!!

  • You have completely ignored what I have said, to pass through the turret ring the shell had to pass through the turret. You are saying the thickest armour was on the turret face? Assuming the turrets were facing the British the armour would have to be penetrated?

  • Why scuttle the ship when the two British Battleships had moved off? Scuttling the ship at this time could have only quickened the end as the ship was already sinking, again why scuttle a ship still full of men in no immediate danger? This idea that the Bismarck was not suink by British warships is just silly.

  • I just dont understand you people. Where do you get your info out of? a crakcer jack box? The head officers at the time (because admiral Lütjens and Captain Lindemann were presumed dead at that time) ordered the Bismarck scuttled so that it would not fall into british hands. The abandon order had already been given. Is this so difficult to understand? I know 6th graders that can run circles around you.

  • Why scuttle? First off you don't know your history. are you a product of public schools? I think so. The Br. battleships did not leave immediately. Admiral Tovey sent in the 2 cruisers to block, and the 2 destroyers to move in and torpedo. 3 hits from torpedos were still not enough, Bismarck was still afloat. What makes you think they were not in danger? were you there? If you had even a half a brain you would realize of course it eventually would have sunk....

  • Why do you think being rude will prove your point? Of the final three Torpedoes fired by Dorsetshire at least one hit near the deck due to the ship being so low in the water. My points are quite simple, the Bismarcks armour was penetrated in every area as the Cameron film shows. Second point is that only around 300 men got into the water, why would the order to scuttle be given in such circumstances. It really doesnt matter though, ships on the bottom of the sea are generally considered sunk.

  • Eh,, Uh, Um. oh oh yah!!!! ships on the bottom of the sea are generally considered sunk!!! At least in this universe!! Trust me- I WON'T ARGUE THAT WITH YOU ON THAT ACCOUNT!!!!! Buuuut... You probably could contact scientists Michio Kaku and Alex Filippenko and mabye THEY can find a universe where those "bottomd'" out ships are not, well, really sunk!

  • I`m sorry I worded this rather stupidly, my point was sunk not scuttled. I really dont want to argue on this point, its just you seem to be suggesting Bismarck was impervious to British shells. At the end of the day Bismarck was only approx 5000 heaver than KGV. Lets forget all previous posts, I am saying Bismarck was sunk fairly by relative equal British ships. Your argument is?

  • My arguement????

    HERE: 6 ON 1.......

    DUUUHHH Gee, Tennessee

DUUUUHH we won't be havin' to go to Mr. Whoopee for this one!

    DUUUUUHHHH

  • @Polybeast You are wastying your time with bismarck fanatics, They either have no sense of reality, are born liars, or neo nazi take your pick. bismarck was obsolete in 1939 contributed 0 to the war and her sister tirpitz even less.

  • @jers59 Bismarck took out the royal navy's pride Hood !, In that time, theese two ships where rivals.

  • @MissMan666 Hood was no match for Bismark. It was old Battlecruiser, not Battleship. Launched in 1918, Commissioned 1920. Modernization of her armor wasn't finished and her deck armor not adequate for battle with Bismark (latest battleship design of the time).

  • @Meerjungfrau19 typical bismarck freak in denial, Bismarck was completly destroyed in less then 2 hours, was beyond saving, was sinking. RN cruiser launched 2 or 3 torpedoes into the bismarck wreckage speeding up the sinking so they could depart the area

  • lmao you used silent hunter 3 the game

there you get bismarck vs the eng so..

  • the germans sank there own ship those of you who say they didn't the only hole capable of sinking the bismark was made from the inside and the bismark was only damaged by 5 hits from nelson and king george all other shots bounced wiki it fools

  • Yes the Bismark was sank by its own crew because it was damaged extensivley and they didnt want the Brits to get it. It dosent matter...it could have been sunk...it was drifting without any offensive capability. If the Germans did not sink it the brits would have...or captured her...period

  • but wiki is not entirely a reliable site

  • Nice work

  • bismarck/tirpitz same thing, yamato, prince of wales, i think yamato whas best

  • Yamato is a beast, i think about 300 planes were needed to take it down. For Bismarck, only one carrier was involved

  • 1 carrier??? lol

  • Your stupid and misinformed

  • and your proof is?

i have read many history books and documents, so don't tell me i'm misinformed, HMS Ark Royal was the carrier that was involved in the hunt of Bismarck

  • dude got owned, hahaha

  • There has been a great deal of nonsense written about the end of the Bismark, much of it pro-German and anti-British in sentiment. The fact is, the Royal Navy hunted the Bismark, ran her down and smashed her. The ships that did this were the battleships HMS Rodney and HMS King George V, plus several cruisers and a number of destroyers. I do not believe the crew scuttled the Bismark; who would want to sink the only bit of friendly dry "land" for thousands of miles?

  • The bismark was WW1 design single purpose secondary guns, unprotected data and comm lines, 3 engines/3 screws, terrible AAA protection could not stop 6 obsolete biplanes, weakest broadside of any modern BB. bismark was sunk by the british END OF STORY

  • Big mouth you have there, JERKS59. I actually have to hand it to you, there is 1 aspect you have (sort of) right. The DKM Bismarck did have splt secondary armament in which the excess weight could have been used for better things. The rest is all hype.. like being a re-work of the Bayern class. Not true, ONLY THE MAIN TURRETS LOOK SOMEWHAT THE SAME! The Arado seaplanes were old, but very rugged. Broadside were about 2100 lbs per shell, good for the day. Get your head out of your ass.

  • @DrakhIM The Bismarck Class were massively modified and refined descendants of the Ersatz Yorck Class and preceding Mackensen Class Intermediate/Transitional Prototype Modern Fast Battleships that were deliberately intentionally mistakenly classified as Battlecruisers by WWI German Navy propaganda to fool the British Admiralty during WWI to believe that the Mackensen Class and Ersatz Yorck Class were both ONLY Battlecruiser Classes and not Battleships similar to the British Queen Elizabeth Class

  • @HAL9000Intelligence I can only partially buy that. the Ersatz Yorck Class were battlecruiser version of the Bayern Super Dreadnaught class w/ improved 380mm/ 45cal guns. the Mac's were 350mm (13.8") 45cal and had nothing to do with Bis/ Bayern class. There was no "fool" scenario. The German BC's ALWAYS had heavier armor than the Brits' BC's Why do you think Hipper's 5 were MORE than able to take Beatty's 9! Bismarck only visually (somewhat) resembled Bayern cl. Internally, were very different.

  • @DrakhIM It was always a routine standard policy by both sides to always deliberately and intentionally misrepresent the facts and use deception by understating the technical statistics of most warships during both WWI and WWII. Even the British Royal Navy reluctantly always categorized the Hood as a Battlecruiser to imply that the British Government must guarantee funds to be used to modernize and update the Hood to the classification of a Battleship however the Hood missed a major refit.

  • @HAL9000Intelligence se i deteshi avessero avuto il radar non avrebbero perso la guerra.la bismarck fu affondato perche un siluro mise fuori governo il timone dopo fu un gioco da ragazzi affondarla. onore ai marinai morti

  • Your mistaken....there were 3 expeditions accomplished and 2 of the three confirmed that it was scuttled. The inner armour had no damage. They sent cameras deep into her hull and confirmed it....its pretty much a known fact that it was scuttled.

Dosent matter though the Brits did a duperb job..and if they wanted to they could have blasted it for a few more days lol.

That would have been awsome if they took the Bismark retooled it and used it to pound the German coast lol.

  • bismark freaks the HMS Nelson destroyed all 4 of bismarks turrets in 15 minutes so the bismark was finished and the Royal Navy gets the credit for sinking it. GROW UP. bismark was over rated commerce raider

  • Hey jers59, or really it should be "jerks59". You are ignorant when it comes to navy battles. 1. Bismarck lost (2) of the most critical battle capabilities- maneuverability. It's port rudder was jammed into the central screw and the st. was jammed 12.7 DEG to port. Speed. It could only make 14kts 2. It had to face 8 ships. 2 battleships, 3 Crusers. 3 destroyers. Considering this, brits should have disabled it in about 8 min. This makes the brits not only cowardly, but bad shots, too!

  • Dachau, Guess you are another bismarck fanatic in love with ship sunk on its first mission ala titanic. You ignore the bismarcks obsolete 3 screws unprotected stern that broke off before it sank and piss poor push button steering. lets not forget the unprotected data and comm lines. broadside was the weakest of any modern BB. But then battleships were obsolete long before 1941 The carier was queen of the sea

  • Drake the only coward is you for posting such statements. Still jealous the Brits sank your german so called wonder ship GET over it they also sank the obsolete tirpitz,, scharnhorst, graf spree

  • Calling me a coward?.. allright, why don't you come up to the Chicagoland area and say it to my face.. are you game? I know what you will do, just like all the other pussies that hide behind thier computer and talk big.

  • drak you really are moron when did i mention word coward? but if shoe fits wear it . typical internet tough guy , go find a job and move out of your parents house.

  • how do you know I live in my parents house, PUSSY! I TOLD YOU , IF YOU WANT TO BACK UP YOUR WORDS, MAN TO MAN! BUT RIGHT NOW IT IS MAN (ME) TO PUSSY (YOU)

    COME

    HERE

    JERKOFF!!!!!

  • what is your malfunction? I guess your parents did not pay any attention to you. you tube needs to institute IQ policy you have to have IQ above 5 to post messages. Will keep idiots like you off this site

  • Ok, Jerkoff. This is exactly what I DIDEN'T want this to turn out- like those "boards" where idiots curse, insult, ect. each other out and then do nothing about it. I heard about these and distance myself at all costs. Again, you continue to insult me over and over (and not to mention all the DKM fans here) I don't like repeating myself. I'm only saying it ONE MORE TIME ASSHOLE: I live in n/e Illinois. COME OVER HERE AND SAY IT TO MY FACE JERKOFF!!!!
  • Cowardly? She should have been allowed into port to repair before the British attacked her.

Besides Bismarck was ,slowly, sailing in a straight line in her final battle. Yet she scored no hits what so ever, this is partly due to Rodney knocking out 50% of her weapons with a single shell.

  • Its all bad management on the part of the Germans. First off, Admiral Günther Lütjens did not want to pursue the Prince of Wales after sinking the Hood. Captain Lindemann did. Then, worse yet , Lindemann wanted to go back to Kiel for repairs, not France. Lütjens ordered course continued.. If it was Captain Lindemann commanding, both Hood and Prince of Wales would be sunk and Bismark would have had proper repair. Not to mention that almost ALL THE CREW HATED LUTJENS! verdict: bad management

  • There is a lot of nonsense written about the end of the Bismark; much of it pro-German and anti-British. The fact is that the British hunted the Bismark, ran her down and smashed her, regardless of whether her crew scuttled her or not. The scuttling I view with considerable doubt: who would sink the only bit of friendly dry "land" for thousands of miles?

  • Whats the name of this song I love it!!!

  • Richard Wagner: Ritt der Walküren /Ride of the Walkyres

  • I bet this is playable bismarck and admiral hipper mod!

  • uuuhm thats silent hunter 3 :)

  • The livery on Bismarck is all wrong, at the final battle, she did not have the camoufalge as shown in your video.

  • If you call 1944 being soon. Look at all the military assests T tied up in the mean time that couldn't be used on other fronts to counter the threat of her breaking out.

  • You are 28 years old and you were on KGV in 1941. Where did you learn your math?

  • yeah soon, as in 1944.

  • Forgive me, but the Bismarck's turrets were held in by gravity, and when she capsized, her four 15" turrets fell out.

  • Correct. Turrets Anton and Bruno where knocked out then the rear. There are some reports Bruno unjammed itself but it was to late by then.

  • Don't waste your time loser, go get some deep realy deep sleep

  • shadeslayer get off the crackpipe

  • Right, thats why your age says 28.... LOL

  • the reason bismarcks sister ship tirpitz was ankered in norway was becuse the ports going out of norway were blocked by the british and germany didnt want to send tirpitz the last great battleship out to fight just to see her sink by overwhelming forces

  • gotta love the 2 biggest battleships in the Atlantic, one made only 1 voyage, and stupidity over dividing their own forces led to her dismiss, and the other for fear sat turtled in Norway until she showed her colors and turned over...and the Nazi's wanted a thousand year Reich...gotta get your feet wet boys, not stand like Swiss and Swedish with your head in the sand...LOL...

  • The biggest battleships to sail the atlantic were the Iowa class, Uss Iowas in 1943 and the rest in post war

  • The reason Prinz Eugen was cut loose was to continue the mission which was sink cargo ships, not to sink battleships. People forget that sinking battleships is a propoganda victory mostly. However what good is being the victor in that if while your busy sinking battleships the other nation's navy manages to sink your supply fleet & if the British hadn't almost sank their own cruiser first Bismark would have escaped to Brest and the German WW2 Navy policy would have been different then it became.

  • Such appropriate music, either Wagner or Holst's "Mars" is running through my head whenever I see footage of the Bismarck :)

  • With wich programme is this model made?

    It`s a good movie.
