When I went on my check-ride, I got pretty lucky on my short field landing. I had like a 20 knot headwind going right down the runway. I just sunk right to my mark and stopped in about 400 feet. It was the shortest short field I have ever done for sure.
Absolutely no difference personally. You fly a lot of the time in yoke aircraft with one hand on thrust levers/ throttle and the other on the yoke, so that sense it's hardly different at all.
The only thing I don't like about Diamonds is that they have a stick rather than a yoke which I'm used to, but I've heard it's easy too get to stick. Is that right if you only flown yokes?
Thanks for the comments guys, AFM stated if I can remember (finished flying it 9 months ago!) that max demonstrated x-wind was 20 knots, but on the DA-42 you had plenty of rudder authority to do quite a bit more!
i don't know about the DA42, but the DA20 is certified for about 20 knots of crosswind. seeing as how similar the planes are i'd say the DA42 can handle the same if not a little more
you get a 9.5 for that landing

perfect landing! but It doesnt seem to be a short field landing....you are supposed to clear a 50ft obstacle before your aiming point

Yeah not great asymmetric but the avionics kit was amazing for IFR training!

It looked as if it was going to land in a crab... Very nice-smooth landing though.
