No matter how many times I hear this song, it still moves me, it's so incredibly beautiful. It makes both my happiness and pain go away, so much so that I realize the melancholy, tired and defeated life that is mine is actually not that bad.

I just recorded a blend of Radiohead's 'How To Disappear Completely' and Thom Yorke's 'Hearing Damage'. I'd be interested to see what Radiohead/Thom Yorke fans think of it?
A problem most people making custom videos have is that they feel obliged to base their video on the lyrics. In this one for example when they say "that there thats not me" you see some guy alone. when it's "I walk trough walls", you see a man who seems to be walking trough wall ( with the camera effect mainly).
It's a reflex most people have and it's one of the worst things to do when doing a video for a song.
Wow... I'm glad that so many people enjoyed the video! And for everyone who doesn't enjoy the video-- that's cool too, because it's really about the music. :) ... But this really inspires me to get into video editing. The three videos I have as of now are all from one 1 week period where I was fucking around with some movie editor. Thanks for all the feedback guys! Go radiohead!! :D

HEY, guys, I just uploaded a live version of How To Disappear Completely, with a long outro. I made a simple video to it. If you wanna watch it, check my channel for it!
This song is lovely, it sortof gives a surreal feeling... I don't know if I used the right word... It's trippy? I dunno. It's good. Plain and simple....
I agree. It's like waking up the day after a loved one passes. It's all in a fog and you can't believe the sun rose without them. At least it's how I feel.
i used to listen to this song sometimes as i drove across a high, frozen highway called "the connector" in the okanagan region of canada. it was always so bleak, frozen, empty, and ice-blue in the winters, save for the occasional vehicle. i had only the trees and frozen lakes for company. i always thought this song suited the scenery well. even though we are in different regions, i think your choice of imagry is very similar, and the sun at 3:00 is the same. perhaps it puts us on a similar wave.
some parts of canada are soo dark and lonely. Most of our population hugs the border so traveling north in the winter can be a surreal experience. But its eerily beautiful in my opinion. Impossible to understand unless you've experienced it. The first half of 'Kid A' is winter in my mind, the tracks just feel soo right coupled with the scenery
Haha, I think you might be right... I like that idea (similar wave). I live in Northern Minnesota- so it seems likely the environment you experienced while listening to this song is much the same as the environment I live in and that probably inspired much of my choice of pictures for the video. Thanks again for the comment!

You did a great job on this. To me, this song gives me the feeling of being disconnected from the rest of the world. I think you portrayed that feeling very well. Excellent job.
I think he did an amazing job visually portraying the feelings that this absolutely hauntingly good song provokes. If you don't appreciate the music, it may look like a bunch of regular clips, but if you love this song you know it goes together very well.
Cole, I'm sorry. You are right to suggest I don't know if you'd be good at accounting or not. All I can know for sure about you, is that you are talentless at making videos. And thus, the odds of you being a great accounting, are by default, equal to or greater than, your odds of making anything worth watching. Simple math really.
Alright man, fair enough. If it gives you some sort of deep, personal satisfaction that your comments are "getting to me" then I suggest you keep going. If you're as intelligent as I think you might be, then I suggest you stop making an ass out of yourself and start doing something a little more constructive with your time than telling me how "untalented" I am, since youtube was apperantly created for professionals and the ultra talented. Thanks for waking me up!
ColeMagic, I'm sorry but everyone is right. This is a very boring, common, cliche video with hundreds just like it all over the internet. Step #1- Take a bunch of black and whites of stark scenery. Step #2- Set it to a band talented enough to obscure the video's lack thereof. Step #3- Throw an ego-tantrum when people smarter than you call you on it. Look into accounting...
*sigh* Jeez. Apparently you actually believe I was trying to make something revolutionary w/ this simple little video & failed miserably when I created something average & cliché. I'm not getting angry at your comment or anyone else's, in fact they're humorous, because for some reason you believe it bothers me when this video is called boring. Sorry if I gave that impression. Accounting? Seriously man, you don't even know me- why be an ass?
I dont normally listen to music in english, rock en espanol is my thing..although I did go see u2 back in 83, anyways while scoping out someone else's channel came across this vid, needless to say its on my fav because of the song AND because of you captured the true essence of the song...thanx
Why do people bother to do this? Why? What's the frickin' point? Why not make a short film? Why not make your OWN music? Oh, to be able to slap some sense into this world!
Well dude, if you didn't notice, I haven't posted anything like this (or anything at all for that matter) since April. Why did I bother? I was on a trip to Chicago and I was bored as fuck sitting in the hotel room one night and did this for fun. Also, I happen to play the drums in a band (we make our OWN music) and I've (to your surprise) made 2 or 3 low-low budget short filmes (since I have an interest in directing) thanks for the comment though!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Is that so? Did he get the rights to use the song? Any of those photographs? Hey! Why not throw in some shots of TIE fighters and some Spiderman for the hell of it? It's fingerpaintin', Dickweed!!!
and if you want tie fighters, spiderman, or whatever, then go ahead and post your own version. heck, i might even check it out. it would probably suck raw @ss though.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"Get the rights to the song? wtf cares?" How damn stupid are you? Haven't you heard of copyright laws? You can't submit anything for festivals or broadcast without all that in order. Feel free to play it during your junior prom, though....jeez.
I'm done with this thread...I have no time for punk-ass kids.
Don't ignore rebus101, cause he did an awsome video for this song. This one is actually pretty boring, and it doesn't really go with the idea of the song, but the images are beautiful, and some of them do represent Radiohead. Maybe they would have went better with Fake Plastic Trees, rather than this song.
Haha, K. I won't even counter that with what I think of your video. Oh I will, not a true Radiohead fan's video. It doesn't even come CLOSE to capturing the emotion of the song. Hell my friend thinks the song itself is boring whereas I don't. You saying my video is boring is pathetic. You obviously don't get the song.
this song makes me realize how lonely i am

Accounting? Seriously man, you don't even know me- why be an ass?

i can't believe the amount of negative-idiot comments your vid has generated. don't let them suppress your art man. it doesn't sound like you will.

Why do people bother to do this? Why? What's the frickin' point? Why not make a short film? Why not make your OWN music? Oh, to be able to slap some sense into this world!
twarski 4 years ago
Well dude, if you didn't notice, I haven't posted anything like this (or anything at all for that matter) since April. Why did I bother? I was on a trip to Chicago and I was bored as fuck sitting in the hotel room one night and did this for fun. Also, I happen to play the drums in a band (we make our OWN music) and I've (to your surprise) made 2 or 3 low-low budget short filmes (since I have an interest in directing) thanks for the comment though!

Is that so? Did he get the rights to use the song? Any of those photographs? Hey! Why not throw in some shots of TIE fighters and some Spiderman for the hell of it? It's fingerpaintin', Dickweed!!!
twarski 3 years ago
get the rights for the song?
wtf cares?
and if you want tie fighters, spiderman, or whatever, then go ahead and post your own version. heck, i might even check it out. it would probably suck raw @ss though.

"Get the rights to the song? wtf cares?" How damn stupid are you? Haven't you heard of copyright laws? You can't submit anything for festivals or broadcast without all that in order. Feel free to play it during your junior prom, though....jeez.
I'm done with this thread...I have no time for punk-ass kids.
twarski 3 years ago
fuck you... and your copyright laws asshole.
you're here listeneing to the song just like i am. fucking hypocrite.
movitmovit 3 years ago 2
you dont need the copyright.
the music isnt being used to make money. plus. if you know anythin about radioheads mentality. they wouldnt fucking care.
TwoGuysWithPants 2 years ago 2
totally. it's one of the things i like about them.
movitmovit 2 years ago
Go ahead and buy the CD then. It's all going to the record company anyway.
If you really want to support the band, shut up about your tight ass copyright crap and buy a ticket to go see them live.

Don't ignore rebus101, cause he did an awsome video for this song. This one is actually pretty boring, and it doesn't really go with the idea of the song, but the images are beautiful, and some of them do represent Radiohead. Maybe they would have went better with Fake Plastic Trees, rather than this song.

i love this one. =]]

Great video, ignore rebus101 he clearly isn't capable of commenting constructively.
