My Grandfather Always Said "Dont Forget the Blues Cause The Blues Wont Forget YOU"...Rest in Peace to Mr.HoneyBoy and to those Known and Unknown to Us....
Never met the man, but damned well knew who he was. Sat here listening to Max. St. Shuffle. Cried for his passing. But he was right . The blues will carry on. Think I'll have a drink out of that jar of "white whiskey" I put back several years ago.
It was one of the honors of my life to get to shake his hand and listen to him play and tell stories the first time I ever saw live music. His autobiography, The World Don't Owe Me Nothing, is a priceless piece of music history. The adage that you shouldn't meet your heroes because they'll only let you down didn't ring any amount of truth the first time I had that opportunity. Thanks, David.
I'm only 17 and I've been into the Blues since I first watched the film The Blues Brothers when I was 14. That was the day that changed my life forever. R.I.P. Honeyboy
It's a shame that only a small group of us are left to appreciate music like this. I'm 25 and a true blues fan. R.I.P. Honeyboy! I hope some of these younger people like me start giving this music a chance, instead of turning to mind numbing processed pop. It's a damn shame...
@TheWatcher516 I agree my friend. I'm 27 and it's hard to find anyone that can truly appreciate the blues. Especially Delta blues. I think there are more out there then we know though.
@TheWatcher516 it takes REAL soul to appreciate the greats like Honeyboy. Count yourself fortunate to have an appreciation of the true talent of Delta Blues! xx
