@rjl1184 it isnt all about the crew chief you know. sure i agree Knaus is a big part of Johnson's success but the driver has to be at his best each and every race. it does no good for the crew chief to have a perfect pit strategy but the driver gets impatient and destroys the car halfway through the race (Busch does that a lot). and on the track Jimmie is really good about overtaking and keeping a consistent pace so he doesnt get passed. but whatever your opinion

It's all about driver crew chief communication. When Jr. is in sync with his crew chief and they understand one another like him and Eury Jr. had then you have success. I think that is true with most drivers. You don't win 18 races and finish as high as 3rd in points by having no talent. With that said Jr. has a lot of work to do if he wants to win a championship or at least win a lot more races before he retires. Is he the best? Of course not, but he has talent.
The other drivers will tell you that Robbie Gordon is the best all around driver. His underfunded cup team doesn't allow him to display it in Nascar. But he has been successful every where else he drives. The short time he was with RCR he won 2 races

@rjl1184 it isnt all about the crew chief you know. sure i agree Knaus is a big part of Johnson's success but the driver has to be at his best each and every race. it does no good for the crew chief to have a perfect pit strategy but the driver gets impatient and destroys the car halfway through the race (Busch does that a lot). and on the track Jimmie is really good about overtaking and keeping a consistent pace so he doesnt get passed. but whatever your opinion

Also I want to point out the skill Jr had at michigan in 08 to win that race on a restart with pretty much a empty tank. Caution flew he stays out 4th on back pitted for FUEL and TIRES and STILL JR restarted and left them all in the dust by the time he exited turn 2. Vickers and lots more others had the tires and fuel to catch and beat as you haters say fuel mileage win Jr. But jr whooped them on hardly no fuel and old tires. He EARNED that win with restart skill. Eat on that Jr haters!

@KLICKETYKLANK O yeah EVERY good racecar driver goes though a lossin streak. Kevin Harvick won the 500 in 2007 and didnt win till 2010 thats 3yrs buddy. So Jr is just goin thought the lossin streak but he will win races soon.

@wes3tomcat . Waltrips was like 462 lol. I wont go as far as to say Jr is horrible, but I will say he never grew up past the Nationwwide series. he could win there...........kinda. Jr nation will go ape shit when he wins another race (even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut)and talk about how hes gonna be just like his daddy..........Jr is not "Jr" any more hes old lol. It's all about driver crew chief communication. When Jr. is in sync with his crew chief and they understand one another like him and Eury Jr. had then you have success. I think that is true with most drivers. You don't win 18 races and finish as high as 3rd in points by having no talent. With that said Jr. has a lot of work to do if he wants to win a championship or at least win a lot more races before he retires. Is he the best? Of course not, but he has talent.

The other drivers will tell you that Robbie Gordon is the best all around driver. His underfunded cup team doesn't allow him to display it in Nascar. But he has been successful every where else he drives. The short time he was with RCR he won 2 races
