Momma cat obviously trusts you to handle her kittens. Our first cat that had kittens wasn't as trusting of us. When we touched the kittens she would growl and if we moved them she would throw them back where they were before.

@USBTRYHARD the mother was happy. the kittens were happy. all survived and were healthy, lovely strong socialble cats. we have 4 other brilliant well loved cats. so yeah you're right, we're retarded and shouldn't be allowed to own them. seriously, some people just want to live on the advice of books and the internet...here's a hint. just cos google says it's this or that, doesn't mean it's the right answer, merely a person's opinion. experience told us to intervene and were were right.

@MegaJeffdick That isnt true. So many people think this because of ppl like u. do your reseach before commenting. Kittens that are not handled untill 7-8weeks often get taken to shelters because they are to shy or hiss at people. You can and you should touch them briefly daily to help with socialization them. Hands should be clean and the kitten should not be taken out of mommys sight. If the mother trusts you it is no problem. you should be checking to make sure they feel healthy and not cold.

@MzJMB i agree, they ended up being very very sociable cats - very strong and brave and tenacious like their parents. they were out in the garden within 4 weeks roaming around. they loved being handled and we had no problems rehoming them. 2 went to family members and they still remember us and are very fond of us

@MegaJeffdick That's a common misconception that causes kittens to become unsocial and hard to adopt. You have to care for them from day 1. Ofcourse according to their age. The first few days just pet them, stroke them. Don't pick them up from their mother for too long, but you CAN pick them up. Insecure and shy kittens happen because their owners don't dare to touch them until 4-6 weeks of age.

@PokeSonic1312 for the first 3 to 4 week the mom will take care of the kittens her self. You wont have to do much. Just make sure the mom has a lot of food and water. Once the kittens start walking and moving around more your house will be like a mad house. LOL good luck.
