WHATS THAT SOUND COMING FROM ..i mean the one that sounds like a clicking key ..the ones u just turn..click turn click ...i have the exact same sound i dono if its standard or if there is a problem ..
what about the camshaft sensor is it ok to leave it off form the orginal air filter box causee i want to put a intake on mine with the full piping but not if is goin to do damage cause the sensor tells the engine when to fire the cylinder or somthing
@andkrs8 Engine-wise, nothing else. I would've done a chip first but I didn't want to stress my already frail turbo (you can hear the whining in the video.) I've got a backup which I really should throw in there and just get a damn chip already.
the 007 forge DV does it make the blowoff sound, sound much more, i mean like, ive got stock DV with BSR opti-flow filter ; ) but when im reving it like you do i dont get that blowoff sound like you got :/ is it just becouse you got that DV valve? I dont think theres anything wrong with mine, cause i replaced it with the BSR DV valve which is reinforced ; ) //sscamaro87 = )
@sscamaro87 Before I installed the new DV, the pressure relief from the stock DV was barely audible. The Forge DV is really the noise maker in the equation, but the K&N serves to increase the audible noise from the turbo AND the DV. If you have your stock DV on there, you're probably hearing your turbo spool and the extra air flowing through the tubes and pipes with some extra volume from your BSR, but not the pressure relief when you let off right?
i can hear the extra wistling sound when the turbo is spooling and i also hear the "woosh" sound when i let off the gas. I just wonder if the 007 DV sounds more, becouse my car isent "wooshing" like when you´re just reving it like in the movie. I wonder if that DV makes it more "noisier" :P I think the BSR is the same as your K&N filter, its open like yours. i could maybe make a vid of mine, but it doesent "woosh" like i said if you isent really driving it on the road with some load... :P haha
@sscamaro87 That deep throaty "whoosh" sound you hear while revving is the sound of the turbo/enging coming through the intake, the "Whoosh" you hear when he lets off the gas is a combination of the turbo pressure being release from the intake as well as the DV. a DV is NOT going to make a continuous whoosh while revving, it will only make a noise once the gas is let off and pressure is released. now if you reverse your DV it will make a MUCH louder noise when the gas is let off.
Agreed, this car is my recent switch to the audi side of the volkswagen family. The thing I was really surprised about is the level of noise reduction going on in the engine bay (which is why our cars at least are so soft audibly). Hopefully a nice turboback installed in the near future will help that out ;)
I was going to put the link right in there for you but youtube isn't letting me. Go to vwvortex forums, click on the little archived content option on the right of the page, and search for cone intake diy. It's the same one I used and it has part numbers for the filters as well.
sounds good

Sounds good man. I'm about to do the same intake mod on my 98 1.8t. Is there anything else done to it besides the intake and 007?

How do you make it so the blow off sound is more like the evo?

@sscamaro87 Yeah, make a vid if you can, but stated simply, any aftermarket DV will make pressure relief noisier.

@houaxiong1 K&N "cone" as its more of an oval cylinder, right on the end of the maf.
