  • Just today I was talking skip to Puerto Rico from Pennsylvania. lancaster....1/22/2012

  • good work form puerto,,,,,,,,,,,,rico to P.A

  • I love talking DX. Been doing it since 1977.

  • hi im from morocco , i always get skips from aal usa by summer . i hear cibistes from NY , N carolina , florida , Njersey, phil , idaho, cal , its so amazing how mother nature is .

i use just 1/4 antenna and a midland 4 w to which i v e modified the final out put transistors to get 20 watts .under 18 volts dc .

  • On a good day a barefoot radio (2 1/2-38 watts) can reach 4000 miles away. With a 1/4 wave back door reflector on a long van, AM channel 11 with conditions . Got to love Mother Nature. 73's and Aloha

  • i thought cb radios could only reach up to 15 miles away from ur position

  • nice skip you got going there ireland waving a hand

  • that is awesome!

  • dow many antennas do you have? most people can only talk 4-10 miles

  • @dudeproductions100 it has more to do with more than antennas. it is the atmospheric conditions that really make the difference. when I was 16, I talked from Arkansas to Australia on an RCI-2950 and a 102 inch steel whip.

  • great video'' good dx

  • thats so kool

  • fake

  • did the other guy leave a comment?

  • i am not gonna lie about this one, this was some impressive skip. especially for a cb with no sideband, this is incredible! hey mistertwister55, do you have any sort of amplifier/kicker to help with distance or was that strictly your antenna and radio?

  • Unbelievable!! How the hell is that possible? How many watts? Output and input? Can i just buy a cb and communicate with you?? I'm still trying to find a good handle........ Cant wait. What is the standard wattage from a cb?

  • @bugginout standard wattage for a stock cb, is 4 watts dead key, with some wear around 8 watts peak power, or "swing" but if you take it to a CB shop they can peak and tune it for you so that your peak power is around 12 watts, but the most important aspect of any radio setup is a good antenna and ground system, with a low swr. hope this helped some

    73

  • what kind of setup do you have

  • i am also a ham, KC9RXP, how all old are you??

maby ill catch you on skip sometime

    73

  • hey i have hear that men from puerto rico in coahuila mexico some times in my truck but they dont lisent to me

  • Greatings from Portugal mate!

  • hi what radio you talking on must be doing a heck of a job making it to puerto rico

  • i rather be on cb than 10 meters, cb is more underground, i better to have a cb in puerto rico than have a ham

  • how you doy that on 11 meters? do you have a liner

  • nice video!!!!

    Mud Duck World Radio

    Southern Cal.

  • I love that accent, it's so cute! :D The one in Pennsylvania!

  • Yay!!! Keep up the interest in radio!!! It great to see a youngster having interest in CB radio. Ever thought of getting your ham ticket? Haha you are just like I am when i talk on the radio except i prop up my feet on the desk and lean back in my chair!

  • @K9FON Lol I have had a ham radio license for about 2.5 years now.

  • @K9FON

Its better to stay at cb

And not going for a ham license

Because Ham radio is tidy and,cb totaly untidy

  • @K9FON im and intersted in buying one, whats ham radio license??

  • Great to see today's youth still using the cb to shoot skip. My biggest thrill was talking to Australia from Southern California on a stock President Lincoln with an Antron 99 strapped to the roof 20 years ago.

  • OZ 1493 northeast Indiana, know broadcasting out of San Juan PR!!

  • hey very nice video, do you get out that far often?? well anyway im CR146 down here in washington county pa in a little town monongahela we use ch 18 am often.

  • mike, what was you using for a antenna when your talking to 260 ? thinking of going on flea-bay getting a dipole cut and tuned for 11 meters..

  • 1 time I picked up Papa Smurf in El Paso, Texas while sitting in my truck in Downtown Lafayette, Indiana. Papa Smurf cruises the truck stops of El Paso advertising on the C.B. he hauls people down into Mexico & back from the truck stops.

  • i like using the cb while i'm taking a dump.

  • I love how CBers get excited when they talk a couple hundred miles. Take your ham test and get a real radio.

  • I know what you mean. I used to damn near have an orgasm back when I was 17 and could work California on my stock Cobra 146 GTL and Radio Shack mag-mount on the trunk of my Topaz. Once I got my ham license and could work stations all over the world with 25 Watts on 10 meters using the same antennas, the thrill was kind of gone.

  • @toolbox212121 haha i have my lin" for ham radio it sucks all u ppl are bunch of pussyes cb radio #1

  • Your cute!

  • jc209 - 73!

  • what kind of radio are you using?

  • it was a pro-510xl

  • Two words, bull sh-t!

  • haha yes it was. I bought it for 40 bucks.

  • but seriously it is a 510 xl without an amp. i could do the same on ten meters with 5 watts qrp and talk to italy. i did it and you know how bad the sunspot cycle is right now.

  • @MisterTwister55 Im calling bullshit on that. Italy on 10 meters... I dont think so. Not in MANY years.

And what is with that fake redneck accent?

  • @MisterTwister55 what did u use to get it to work in your house plz reply

  • @spongebobfan205 Uniden pro-510xl cb with a antron 99 antenna. very basic setup.

  • @spongebobfan205 well i used what came in the box plus external coax cabose so i can get antenna out front and i used a power suplie one of those arista ones dc power supply

  • his mommy cuts his hair. Or his barber is blind.

  • 2 watts AM. no amp. antron 99.

  • get a imax 2000 with the ground plain and you will see a big increase in signal and receive

  • hey i am up here in NJ i am going to be geting a BIG cb it is going to be big so keep your ears on i am going to be BIG.

  • damn....papi your so red neck hahahaha not bad though atleast your not racist to our people

  • hey was going on i go by the handle wild child 420 i am in pa also just wanted to wave the hand

  • Did he ever get back to you?

  • To tell you the truth, I don't know. I think the person who replied to his video might be him, but I haven't been on the cb for months now. I like civilized 10 meters better! Yes. I have a license.

  • thats right, i can fire up on 20 meter and talk to italy every day and even to antartica. thats fright antartica. 73s from kj4aqv . and also cb haves it time and play. i have one on base and on in my mobile.take care

  • Yep. I could do the very same. Listen to me all over the General part of the 20 meter band. I will listen for you.

  • good job kid cb need young blood stay on the air!

  • yeah, and that garbage that you spew over your citizens band accomplishes absolutely nothing..

No matter how many watts you are running.

on a good day you might be able to talk a few states over..

ANY DAY OF THE WEEK I can fire up the radio and talk all the way down to south america, or to the west and east provinces... and I can do it with 100...

CB radios are just a nice little book end piece for my ARRL handbooks

  • Amen! I LOVE ham radio!

  • [qoute]Is this 10 meter? You aren't allowed on ten meters without a Ham Radio license like I have. [/qoute]

then why would you ask if 26.915mhz is 10 meters?

You must only be a tech

  • Because channel one is 26.965 MHz. It must be LSB. I got my license back in September and upgraded to general in December. I am upgrading to extra here in the spring.

  • hey dude you running any heat behind ur cb setup or is it barefoot ??

  • As the description says, no amps or nothing. Just 4 watts. I am not in to cb anymore. I have a ham license and will upgrade to extra this spring.
