the alto sax solo at 2:24 just kills me; to anyone who doubts videogame's potential for a genuinely moving experience, i'd have them play ODST; particularly the part immediately after the first cutscene when this piece of music plays.

It's nighttime. I was just walking home from my friend's house through the empty streets of Quincy Center. I thought of this song as I walked to the train station. Rest assured, I had goosebumps on the way back. . . .
I never thought ODST would be my favorite Halo game when I first saw it. But the dark music , the "i''m alone and lost" atmosphere,... + you're a human, not a genetically modified supersoldier, The "chapter" story telling, the sad story your surroundings tell you,... ODST is so unique in the series, i guess it's like "the majora's mask" from the halo series. Just an awesome game ^^

ODST is actually my favorite of the Halo games. Has a decent story, told in a unique way (at least to the series), has the best overall atmosphere, by far the best soundtrack, and to top it all off, the complete Halo 3 multiplayer. Sure the single player could've been longer, but I still love playing it. Not to mention the suppressed SMG is by far my favorite human gun in the entire Halo franchise!

@MichaelBailee Each life was about 2 hours.... most of it was just wandering around the city. I only respawned like 3 times... all I remember from wandering around was this song....over and over and over again. It was sickening after a while...
@MichaelBailee There was a video guide but I already had like 60% of them so I wasn't going to go through each and every spot again. Besides I wasn't going to remember where I had and hadn't been. So I found a map which was kinda useful. My computer is in my room upstairs and my xbox is in the basement so I couldn't use both at the same time.

ODST by far has my favorite video game songs in it. I remember that I used to just sit in one part of a level and listen to some of the music. Great game.

the first part of this theme captures the very feeling of the first moments of the game: The rookie getting out from his capsule, seeing a devastated and desolated city, not knowing if his team members are alive, he has to struggle for survive the covenant invasion force, and also find his team members.
When I discovered that halo is supposed to show us the future Persian wars I was really happy that Americans found a respectful way to honer the Spartans, the Thespians and the Thebans even if they don't do it straight, never the less they don't have to. Awesome game also

It's a publicity stunt by Joystiq B. 343 and, M$ wanted to take attraction off Halo 4 while it's being made. C. in this scenerio it is actually being made by that company, while 343 is hard at work on Halo 4 and, this C.E. Remake could either be a cover up for a small game based on the orgins of Master Cheif, or it's the real deal.
Halo Combat Evolved was a part of my childhood and it remains my favorite game. I really hope the company doing the remake of Halo CE knows what they're doing. If they fuck it up I will personally beat them all to death with a traffic cone.

Definetly the most unique Halo game to date. Your alone in a city after a massive bomb came off. There is a bigger fight somewhere far away in the universe and you are a lone UNSC soldier. An ODST. Listening to this track gives you the feeling: Im alone and I need to find my team...

@rageID2011 I used at least 6 hours just wondering on New Mombasa with Rookie. I think that is bit long + every other levels.. So I dont call it short if you really enjoy it. Audio logs, city itself and all secrets.. Long game, good game.
The music in this game is so different to all the other halos. Its darker, lonelier and maybe with a hint of despair in it, but still with uplifting parts to counter it. Perfect for the game storyline. Once again, applause to O'Donnel and Salvatori, without them the Halo universe would be a very different place.

It was this ONE song that reminded me of those good Halo days, where I would wait impatiently for a Halo game to come out. Those days where I would have orgasms while playing the campaign. Those days where i would ragequit and T-bag my enemies in multiplayer. I guess that this days are over. R.I.P Bungie. You will be missed. Btw, ever wondered about Bungie Aerospace?

Nope. The 5 dislikes were from the Prophet of Regret, the Prophet of Truth, the Prophet of Mercy, Tarturus, Cortana because Master Chief was being a bad boyfriend by falling asleep in a cryo-chamber in the end of Halo 3, And Sergeant Johnson because Master Chief was being an asshole and forgot the Med-Pack in the warthog.

the first part of this theme captures the very feeling of the first moments of the game: The rookie getting out from his capsule, seeing a devastated and desolated city, not knowing if his team members are alive, he has to struggle for survive the covenant invasion force, and also find his team members.

When I discovered that halo is supposed to show us the future Persian wars I was really happy that Americans found a respectful way to honer the Spartans, the Thespians and the Thebans even if they don't do it straight, never the less they don't have to. Awesome game also

@laatyne @ajw34307 After doing some research, I think this may either be the following things: A. It's a publicity stunt by Joystiq B. 343 and, M$ wanted to take attraction off Halo 4 while it's being made. C. in this scenerio it is actually being made by that company, while 343 is hard at work on Halo 4 and, this C.E. Remake could either be a cover up for a small game based on the orgins of Master Cheif, or it's the real deal.

Halo Combat Evolved was a part of my childhood and it remains my favorite game. I really hope the company doing the remake of Halo CE knows what they're doing. If they fuck it up I will personally beat them all to death with a traffic cone.

@QuackyBear They already are fucking it up. They aren't using the engine that Reach runs on, even though Bungie gave rights to the engine to Microsoft so that they could use it, so that means nothing will look the same as Reach, and I really can't tell what the people were thinking both at Microsoft and at the company that is redoing it. Also: The same company created "Timeshift" which every review says it sucks, the graphics are HORRID, and the gameplay is cliched. Hooray. Problem, TL;DR?

@ajw34307 I agree with you most of it's rumours but, I doubt if they are making anything Halo related that it's a damn remake.. Halo C.E. is awesome WITH OUT a top-of-the-line game engine, I wouldn't mind halo 1-2 being released in a trillogy collectors pack for the 360 but, remade? No. If they are going to make something, continue the series starting off from the halo 3 cliff hanger. It's what I want, It's what the fan's want and, we all know Halo is a franchise that is STILL alive and, well.

Definetly the most unique Halo game to date. Your alone in a city after a massive bomb came off. There is a bigger fight somewhere far away in the universe and you are a lone UNSC soldier. An ODST. Listening to this track gives you the feeling: Im alone and I need to find my team...

@rageID2011 I used at least 6 hours just wondering on New Mombasa with Rookie. I think that is bit long + every other levels.. So I dont call it short if you really enjoy it. Audio logs, city itself and all secrets.. Long game, good game.

The music in this game is so different to all the other halos. Its darker, lonelier and maybe with a hint of despair in it, but still with uplifting parts to counter it. Perfect for the game storyline. Once again, applause to O'Donnel and Salvatori, without them the Halo universe would be a very different place.
