I've read the book and this adaption is the best! I surely like season one better bc of the pacing of plot, make-up, costumes and I think that the acting was quite unique and more charming. But I also greatly enjoy this season (we have to thank Liu Xiao Ling Tong for his great perfomance and for giving us the most real, adorable Monkey King), so in short:The best and most faithful adaption so far.
Btw, who hasn't watched the 1st, I HIGHLY recommend to do so, otherwise you really miss something!
This is so FUCKING retarded. They completely ignored the fact that the novel is ACTUALLY about achieving spiritual/philosophical ENLIGHTENMENT.
It makes me sick how BOTH parts of this adaptation do not in any way convey the metaphysical, philosophical theme that is the entire POINT of the fucking novel.
FAIL.
Both the Zhejiang and ZJZ adaptations have understood and conveyed this. It's really fucking sad that the so-called "best adaptation" of the story has failed so miserably.
@PrinceKrillo Dude, if you watched season one, they do achieve enlightenment (except Bajie, who is far too perverted to achieve enlightenment.) Think about the positives. The acting was excellent, the costumes were good, and the story distracts you from the bad graphics. I'm reading the book online, and this is a pretty close adaption (aside from leaving out most of the gory parts, which I'm actually glad they left out the gory parts)
Nah, I fear it is. With season one I think the film any chapters of the book. Nothing left what I can remember. But of course I wish that you are right and theres more ^^
@yushan888 You didn't watch season one? Then you better do its much better then season two!!! When they were younger, Wukong was much more agile there and Tripitaka more pretty!
@KaratekaLi i am from nepal. and i am kirati. lord buddha was born when kirat was ruling nepal and the himalayas region.
lord buddha visited kathmandu valley, nepal when 7th kirat king Jitedasti was at the throne. King Jitedasti was a king king and he let lord buddha and his disciples taught buddhism in nepal.
watch the video --> sakela-the greatest festival of kirat people
Didn't they recently make another series (complete with many of the old cast) called Wu Chen'en and the Journey to the West or something like that? I think it aired 2010. I've been tring to find episodes online, but no luck.

@PrinceKrillo
Actually the episodes aren't chronological order. This episode is actually based on chapters 91-92.
The real ending is in season 1 episode 25.

@KaratekaLi There's no better then season. The journey carries on in season and they're the same cast. You're saying the story is better?
There's no 'better' cause in my opinion. I enjoy season 2 as much as season 1.
