They're both equally good items. I used to save Meryl (usually), because Otacon survives anyway. Although you have to play the game again, give up, and get the Stealth Camo. The better ending is saving Meryl if you ask me, but that's just me (and maybe several million other people who've played this game, lol).

Here's a tip for everyone who has trouble in button smashing:

Take a piece of clothes... wharp it around your thumb. Now you should be able to slide back and forth over the button pretty easily without tiring up.
