i have a canon vixia hfs200 and i just bought a rode videomic but it has the same hissing problem!!!! what do i do??? i make short movies and i need good audio. please help
@JKIProductionz I have same problem. I bough 200 bucks sennheizer mic for my canon t2i, and at first it worked well and i didn't hear and noise on the video, but know i can hear it and it pisses me off. Any suggestions?
I'm wondering which setting you use in ML. I have Rode too and there are diff. option like external, inter left exter right. Which one do you use? Do you find the audio is super super quite after recorded? Do you boost in post? Because Premiere Pro only me to boost to 6db. Even when viewing on my laptop I turned the loudest and it is still quiet. If you can give me some advice would be great. Thanks.
I'm not sure what the end result was from this video. The first half of the video shows the rode mic picking the direct sound in the environment. It almost sounds as if it were pushed. The second half of the video shows a more muted mic that doesn't capture the sound much at all.
where did you find magic lantern for the mkii!! i cant find it anywhere whats the link!

I've got the same mic. What is the setting at the top of the notch just above "on"?

it takes away most of the noise but it also flattens the sound.

so do you install the firmware the same way you'd install the canon firmware? Does that not interfere with the canon firmware in any way?
