Verizon DSL service is not the highest level ISP out there. Fios and cable is more reliable. Premium tech support is not needed. Customers need to understand that 1.5mbps/.768 speeds is not for downloading and networks inside the house.
i hate verizon internet wehn i play and my brother plays runescape so wehn i play it would lag so much. it wouldnt lag if my brother wasnt on the computer. most of the times its good and sometimes bad. i still hate their connection because i wouldnt be able to connect to some of my friends
2 years later... they still have not worked it out. It's horrible. I've been trying to switch to comcast but their customer service is terrible. They showed up 2 and a half hours late to install it like it was nothing and they said it was too dark to get to the pole because they got here so late. Whatever... they're the lesser of two evils. When an internet provider finally provides competent workers, I'll go to them in a heartbeat. For now, Comcast it is.

You frustrate me so much your like the usual TYPICAL old people i run into that are completely fine with dsl internet for just internet. You are running 2mps/860kps which i could fucken upgrade you to 15/5mps and you pay 60$ end result saving 10$ the first 6 months your just an idiot or you lived with your grandma to long and you dont know shit about speed + its your fucken processor that makes a difference upon most games

Man, you are absolutely right. I have been resetting my modem for the past 2 weeks. Whenever I reset, I get close to the speed that I am paying for, but then it crawls down to .25 mbps in about 10 minutes. Yes, thats point twenty five mbps!! I am paying for 5 mbps down. This shit is retarded. I live in bergen county nj and all i have is these morons jipping me off for dsl and giving me dial up speed. There is no competition here for dsl and I don't want cable. Yes, indeed the service really bad, having it for almost 3 years now(till contract end). the last 6 months it went down a lot outta nowhere. The last time i called them, they insisted my pc messed up even though i have 2 pcs and a laptop and they all cant go on. The last response i gave them is "i just gonna wait till it magically work again" and he response "Ok, Sir". 12 hrs later, it work magically lolz, everybody happy right? =3

For some reason, whenever there is some big storm outside or any sudden weather change, my DSL connection always craps out and gives me awfully slow speed. Apparently, I'm not the only one. Alot of people in NYC and LA metropolitan area have the SAME issue. Seems like verizon likes cheap phone lines.

@gasdorf i agree with you, we have had verizons dsl for 3 years, and right after they started advertising for FiOS our internet went to crap. Now instead of being able to actually connect to the internet at a low 768kbps we connect at an even lower 500kbps or so. And yes we get spam from them to, even after calling them and telling them we wont upgrade, they still proceed to send it.
Not a complex. Just my home... But it was even bad enuff that when I had ONLY my comp connected to the modem, that I could not play a MMO without my ping bein at over 1100...

Anything Verizon sells sucks. I'm a former Alltel customer and my bill has shot through the roof....I'm gonna concel their crappy service. i never had a cell bill this high. My bill wnet from about 110 per month to $356 dollars...screw Verizon!

It seems like no matter what provider you choose there will always be problems. For instance, I have Verizon DSL, and for some reason it goes out periodically. Totally unexplained. It did not do this for the past 5 months, but it just started last week. I can browse and everything but I cannot stay constantly connected, meaning I get kicked out of online games. When we had comcast, they had good connection but when they went out, they were out for awhile. So in all, fuck internet providers.

Verizon really does suck. I have it myself, and it is really slow. I have a Westell C90-610015-06 DSL Router, and a Linksys WRT16ON V2 Wireless-N Broadband Router, and the internet is shitty
