Just some observations, everyone there needs to go on a diet it may be more beneficial then the Tai Chi you are practicing, the guy with pony tail, well need I say it, needs a haircut and well you got it, somebody needs to shave, oh and dump the outfitts, just because they are black doesn't make you any better...on that note great video. Thanks
this is genuinely awful. guangping, when practiced correctly, is seriously powerful. this demonstration is utter crap. the bunch of you would be better off learning the beijing 24 forms from the internet than practicing guangping this incorrectly.
What is the name of your Guang Ping instructor? I'm sure he would be ashamed of your behavior here which demonstrates both a lack of understanding of the students participating and the art as a whole. If you aren't willing to say, please don't reply.
Apologies to the person posting if I was rude to you. Shrfu has taught the form a few different ways, I happen to be there when he was discarding any rising and falling but I can see the benefit of it in terms of a more advanced set... and yes I have seen him do it like this too. I personally wouldn't start a beginner off with this approach though.
Be well and thanks for keeping Guang Ping alive in your part of the country.
Pictures taken of a master in his 80's don't say a whole lot. I have studied with him personally. There is some old footage of him demonstrating the set in his 50's. No rising and falling!!
I find that rising and falling is lazy. Relax into the intensity of an even transition. This is Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi. Try it. The set is so much better like that.
A wise man trains the way his master shows him and others train the way they are shown. If you dont know the difference between Taichichaun and Taichi form then come to me and ill give you a private lesson on these matters! Enjoy the journey.
I checked this guy out. Googled him. Apparently he has been in Tai Chi/Martial Arts for some 40 years. He's a full contact Karate Champ and National Tai Chi Forms Champion with many medals in push hands tournaments.
Just some feedback don't take it personlly. your transitions are awful, too much rising and falling. Master Y.C. would give you an earful if he saw this.
I have pictures of YC demonstrating the entire form. Even more rising and falling than you see here. There are times when he is almost scraping the floor - and he is in his 80's when the pictures were taken!!

Sounds like a good opportunity to me.
