Our grandmother "Mimi" used to play this song on the piano and sing in her beautiful sweet voice. I can recall turning the pages and reading the lyrics...once I was old enough to read. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. So sad that our foolish wars and killing continue leaving so many families scarred. Thanks for posting...it brought tears to my eyes.
