that was pretty lame.......you (he)spoke without using any enphosis in your (his) voice. this is also wrong,in the demonstration,you can not just move one ruler when you slide it.e.g: if they were tuching,like you said,ti would cause friction ...in order to pull the remaining rulers with it.
