was in high school in 1981 in the san fernando valley and remember the famous punk vs cop riots in hollywood thoughout the early 80's wow the wild wild west.
This is 6 minutes of comic genius. I remember when this movie came out people were rolling in the aisles watching it, and quoting it to their friends constantly.
@skinhead5 no way mate !! are you sure???? !!!! i saw decline when it came out, never did get into faster pussycat but will check 'em out if that is indeed true !!
ha who fucking cares Pat was in the germs and thats what matters fuck the rest of those bands every band on this movie kicks ass so fuck the other genres
@JohnnySwitchblade dont know who they are but i know most of who these people by that the ones in the bands pat and lorna are being interviewed in this like the late darby crash the germs are promoting teir album in this
@Amuck14 You're right. There is no possible way it could ever be repeated....not even in a small way. Too much control. Around June of 82 at Seamus O'Brien's in South El Monte was the last time we were able to go absolutely nuts in that "free" wild sort of way you speak of. And that night the man came in and gassed us. It just wasn't the same anymore. The early to mid 80's were pretty crazy, but things seemed too established and controlled. Wasn't free anymore.
@Harpgrindin me and my punk crew 2tm from inglewood started the punk riot at the keyclub early 2010... history has been repeated... even youth brigade who played that night said so themselves
@Amuck14 Wheres our documentary. Nowadays L.A punks are scattered throughout gang infested south central, watts , compton , inglewood. Decline part 4?
I suppose that response is about accurate, I have just dealt with some super annoying and self-righteous crusties at info-shops and food not bombs shows. To each his own really. I'm sure some anarchos are great Just like most L.A. punks were great aside from these dipshits (Eugene and Fuckhead).
Haha, your the idiot! Pat Smear WAS in the GERMS, NIRVANA, and The FOO-FIGHTERS! 99 percent of all punks are complete tards, and you fit in that category quite nicely.
A slight correction. 99% of the people who call themselves "punks" in 2008 are indeed stereotypical low-wattage bulbs. Wasn't always like that. The original punks were some of the most intelligent people I ever knew, though damaged in their own way. There were a few exceptions, but most of the early punks could almost be considered too intelligent for their own good.
@infidelcastrate64 slight correction almost NO-ONE calls them-self punk in the USA now NO ONE, all you need is a wikipedia page to prove your band is punk, everyone is scene or emo or some wannabe hardcore genre and that emo shit is bitchy fags
@infidelcastrate64 well here it shows alot of punks back then were mabey even more violent than a majority now days. Usaly the ones doing hard drugs are the biggest materilistic assoles.
i@infidelcastrate64 im a punk in 2011... ive been one for the past 13 years. so if im out in the street your gonna think some sterotypical shit... get a grip
Ignore what this Sheeple guy told you. It's wrong. X-head lives a very normal married life with kids in Tennessee. He's a real estate agent, rides motocross, and breeds pit bulls.
@shovedhead Xhead turned out just fine. Still fights authority, still kickin ass and always going against the system. Yes he lives in TN and is married, you might have seen him on a couple of TV shows a few years back, he had a heart attack while hunting and his dog helped save his life. He raises pit bulls, and has 4 kids, his youngest races motocross.
I love it! I remember watching this when I was a kid and this was the one scene that I remember. Just shows how ridiculous the LA scene got in the early 80s.
Rediculous? More like Revolutionary. It may have been better 77-79, but even the hardcore was groundbreaking. It may not have been your cup 'o tea, but it changed the world of music, no doubt.
No, it was my cup of tea. I grew up listening to this stuff (and still listen today), going to the shows and whatnot and it definitely was revolutionary. However, hardcore was about aggression, not necessarily violence. We're all ignorant when we're young, but some of these ignorant assholes were kicking ass for no reason. Having been to shows where ugly violence broke out (think 10 on 1, not man on man), I think that it is safe to say that the violent behavior had become ridiculous.
lol. Brilliant
