Firstly, your figures are fabricated, if not completely false. No one really knows how many people Stalin killed or sent to the gulags during the Purges, as the records from that era of the Soviet Union are spotty at best. I can assure you, however, that 6 million people did not die due to poverty in the US during the same year. This is simply not true. Living conditions were not particularly good, life was hard, but 6 million is an egregious overestimate.

You are right, however, when you say that the United States benefitted economically from the World Wars. This is sort of true. The Soviet Union did too, if not immediately. Obviously, Russia/the Soviet Union suffered far more during the Wars than the US. Still, you are wrong in your assertion that the US was fighting for financial gain only. Many factors contributed.
