A side by side test on my computer, I see that that firefox 4 is almost exactly the same speed as google chrome 14. The difference is that #1 Google Chrome starts up faster and #2 Firefox is blank and then everything loads at once, while google chrome loads as it goes. The loading as it goes thing can get annoying sometimes, like pressing a button that is another button that hasn't loaded yet.
Gotta admit, Chrome takes some getting used to, but that's only because it's so much simpler than internet explorer. It's quicker, it shows more of the webpage and it's so, so easy to use. Lovin' it.
Hahhaha nice funny one! love the vid.. and of course chrome is a good browser u guys should stop look at the silly details google team already done that for u!
Noone noticed that the kid is running WIndows on his Mac?! Chrome for MacOS has been released ;) besides one sec his desktop is black and the next is blue :) too little attention for google guys!
I like Chrome because it's just a no bullshit web browser. You haven't got half of the room filled up with toolbars when the only one you use is the google search, which Chrome's address bar acts as anyway! And it does seem a lot faster. And it doesnt fuck up on Youtube like my IE...but that might just be my pc.
*cough* try opera, you cang yahoo and wiki search and amazon search and more on the same bar xD also its faster still gawd i sound like a sales rep now but it is acctually better then FF Chrome and IE etc and alot safer yet its so underused despite its obvious lead in the market (get it and you would understand)
acctually Opera is theres no debating it with the turbo feature, where opera downloads a site for you, compresses it many times over then sends it you, even really slow internet connections get super fast loadin times. without this yes chrome would indeed be faster. but it isnt now. :3 gotta love Opra for thinking of new ingenious ways to beat the competition
Actually I'm going to have to disagree with you; I have just downloaded Opera and compared the two browsers on sites not cached in either of the browser's memory, and Chrome came out faster. Each time, every time. And besides that, Opera takes up too much screen space and feels a lot clunkier. It's less responsive too, and I'm not on a slow computer.
1) different versions of opra provide different speeds, and you cna pick your favourite
2) did you enable the turbo feature? also dont run them at the same time obviously) but of course its what you feel; most comfortable in using at the end of the day. i only ask people try opera and make up their own minds which they like best
I'm sticking with Firefox because I like a browser that can DO things. Cooliris, link previews, Personas, Adblock, Web Of Trust, DownThemAll, Download Helper, completely customizable toolbars, live bookmark RSS feeds, torbutton, bablefish integration, GOOGLE TOOLBAR (that chrome doesn't even have something like this is kinda embarrassing), twitterfox...
Not everyone != no-one. And, I doubt EVERY firefox user uses ALL of these add-ons, but the fact that you can just one-click install something that e.g. lets you click a button in the toolbar to download/convert a Youtube video to your computer, or lets you quickly access twitter from the bottom-right corner is, undeniably, a good thing. This extensibility is why many people use and will continue to use Firefox.
And, I've customized my toolbars so it's slimmer then even Chrome's. It's quite easy.
That doesn't change the fact that a of people still don't use any of these features. I have firefox just in case there are times when I can't do something on chrome, but that is rare because I hardly require anything additional. I'm not denying tha tsome firefox extensions are useful, but like I said.. a lot of people just don't need them, they want speed instead.
I beg to differ: most people I've ever met that use Firefox have at least one add-on installed, and most-all add-ons simply don't have an equivalent in Google Chrome.
For people that don't use add-ons, great, but like I said, most people I've ever encountered use firefox because it's got some add-on that does something no other browser can do, and more then half those people have multiple add-ons installed.
it is infact faster than internet explorer and firefox but its exceptionally basic options make it useless, also it has huge security and password protection flaws

Hmm, frankly I thought Opera was past its sell-by date, left in the trail of dust. But hey, maybe I'll check it out.

Mainly, it's just a bit too bulky for my liking - I prefer lightweight nippy stuff. Not to say Opera isn't nippy.

So's Dillo. Doesn't make it useful.

I hardly use any of those features and I have very little patience so Google Chrome is a win-win for me.
