  • and to think nearly everyone I know grew up watching Disney while I was enjoying these. So grateful to have had a proper English childhood.

  • heehe the Badger...he's like Holmes to Watson when it comes to Toad. He can compliment him and at the same time brig him down in second sentence

  • Rat has a beautiful way of words between 3:09- 3:35. So beautiful.

  • I would be quite delighted to find a hedgehog in my ceiling! =D Poor little one though =/

I love this.. I just feel like putting on some tea and toasts and enduldge myself infront of the fire.. =D

  • I love the way toad always speaks as if he had something sticky in his mouth...

Badger was extremely rude in criticizing his host so gratuitously, let alone in the presence of other guests! Manners, Badger!

  • @lindaliriel It comes from eating all those cream cakes. :P

As for what Badger said, the 1900's were a different time from this one. When people like Toad acted arrogant, the wiser men weren't afraid to speak their minds.

Toad would have loved modern times. Most people are afraid to let out criticism, incase they come out as racist or something.

  • @georgemiser

I don't think it has so much to do wih the times (courtesy sadly is more a thing of the past than the present) as with the fact that badger was toad's father's friend, and so saw toad grow up and thins of him as a nephewof sorts...

  • @lindaliriel I always thought that aswell. I guess Badger is quite attached to Toad in that respect. Probably some family love involved.

  • Jesus it's been years since I've seen this.

  • "i say, you have a jolly funny way of putting things, Badger."

"Do you mean the fellow was in...trade?"

    i love toad.

  • oh dear., how sad it is to look back on things from ones childhood and see how the world and oneself have changed!

  • I agree. Toad quite often deserves it, but sometimes even Badger goes too far!

  • At 3:08 it makes me sad to listen to Ratty. Remembers me of the episode "Wayfarer´s All". He sounds so emotional, brings a lump to my throat.

  • @Punki80 I noticed the same reference :) and yeah it is sad...because he sort of ignored the call...didn't listen to it like his ancestors and it seemed like he let go of his fate as a rat.

  • Actually there WAS a mole that killed a king - William of Orange, I think. His horse tripped on a molehill and he was thrown off. The fall broke his neck. It is why Catholics toasted to the health of the "gentleman in the little black waistcoat".

  • Did you upload this from an ancient video recording you got off the telly or is there actually a release of series 3 (+4+5) out there?

  • Yes, it was from a video recording from years ago. At present only series 1 and 2 are available on DVD. This why I have posted episodes from series 3,4 and 5.

  • Probably my all time favourite animated series. Perfect.

  • wonderfull

  • Thank you:-)

  • Hahahaha! Toad is cool!

  • Can't believe this episode used to scare me...hehe!

  • Yeah it used to scare me too... oh how television and cinema have desensitised the youth and adults of today, such a shame.
