Tyler fucked up the shuffle feature for me though, he's like the total opposite of Atmosphere and it's wierd as hell to jump between Goblin and When Life Gives You Lemons. I just got "Bitch Suck Dick" followed by "The Last to Say".
I agree with those 3 albums because they each introduce an evolved sound to dying breeds in hip hop. If the list was extended i would of thrown in Tech n9ne's all 6s and 7s and Talib Kweli's Gutter rainbows.
Lol. As soon as you said "Tyler, the creator" I paused the video & said "pause" lmao. Ya know, I never liked Krit like that, the drawal is too much for me, me maybe because I'm from the south & used to hear all the stupid people using it, so it correlated. My three albums of the year & Section.80, Phonte's album, & 9th Wonder's album. Yes.
lol, I feel ya, but "Goblin" surprised me in a very big way. I've been getting bored with Hip Hop, and that shit was rejuvinating in my opinion. Burger, Yonkers, Sandwiches, Radical, Boppin Bitch...the whole album just gets me goin. Believe me, I was surprised too. Like I said, there were other albums that were good, but none that got to me like those 3
@letsspeakhiphop If you like the album(which is horrible btw) you would love the Radical Mixtape which is by all the Odd Future people and not just Tyler because Earl is better than him.
Don't get me wrong, there were other albums this year that were really dope. I loved both of Blu's records. The Beastie Boys album was great. Pharoahe Monch's war was good. I don't know if you've heard of Hail Mary Mallon, but I loved their record (Are you gonna eat that). Skyzoo made some dope shit, and I was really impressed with J Cole's and Cunninlyngusts album, but this was about the three records that just had a serious impact on me for whatever reason
yea man, HMM had one of my favorite line's from Aesom Rock "I escpare from New York like watching King Kong backwards..." man I heard that and flipped. THat one and "half great dane, half great depression, tin can filled finding anarchy impressive. taught himself to rap and calibrate acrchiac weapons." Lines like that are what make me love hip hop. "mutiny hudini, dissapear before appearing, sorcery is easy" Aesop is that man!!!
yeah, it was good, but like I said to @UseHername93, this list was just about the albums that seriously impacted me and caught me by the bull horns. I expect dope shit from Pharoahe, so it doesn't surprise me that much. Those 3 just had something extra for me that I got from no other albums this year.
yo, I like your thoughts on rap. I dunno if you have a video about this, but what do you think about mixtapes? I like them a lot, cause it seems like with a lot of rappers, mixtapes are a chance for them to do what they want and release it too, without the pressure from their labels to get a certain sound. It also seems like a lot of mixtapes are better than the albums that get released after. Like, i'm thinking of da drought 3, or both das racists mixtapes. Trunk music too.

@shinyLucario36 Earl feels like Tyler with less "Faggots" and more wordplay.
