Chick made quite a few mistakes with players names etc over his last few years ( he called Shaq "Kareem" quite a few times). Sure it was kinda funny, but then again let's see how sharp YOUR memory is when you're 80+ years old and talking a mile a minute live on the air.

I remember getting his autograph when I was a little kid. I was dumb enough to ask for it WHILE HE WAS ON THE AIR broadcasting a Laker summer league game. He was clearly miffed, but signed anyhow. Thanks for that. RIP Chickie.

I grew up in Orange County listening to Chick and watching the Lakers. He brought more excitement to the game than any other announcer ever has. A piece of the Laker family was lost when Chick passed which can never be replaced by anyone. He is deeply missed but I thank him for all the wonderful memories.
