Thanks MusicMike2 for the post and keeping this 1979 memory going. I thought the song was well crafted ...and your comment about it reaching only #41--I liked the song, surprised it didn't do better. I was a senior at University of Cincinnati in '79--the "fern bar" I thought was so cool always played this while I played backgammon on dates.
I totally remember hearing this song back in the day. It got quite a bit of airplay on the soft rock station in San Diego KIFM. When I hear it it reminds me of the years I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and when I was a newlywed. Seems like light years ago :)
Hold the phone! You just mentioned "China". This must be the song I have been looking for for YEARS. I though it sounded like Jimmy Buffet. PLEASE post!
Wow, what you can (finally!) find on the internet! I haven't heard this song since it was released and I thought I never would again. Thanks for making my evening, Music Mike!
I never heard or heard of this one before, and I'm sure I would have liked it a lot back then. (I wasn't as impressed with the one called "China" that you posted today; this has more of a beat, which is what I appreciate.) It's a real shame that it peaked at #41, because that means that Casey Kasem didn't get to play it on "American Top 40". If it had charted higher, perhaps I would have at least heard it on that show.
Imagine ! This song came to my mind at 1.43am. So I searched on google with the few wordsI knew from the chorus...which is all I remembered from the few times I heard it on the radio in 1979....in Trinidad! Thanks for the trip down memory lane...I had a big Crush back then !

Here's another MIA: an Ozark Mountain Daredevi
ls tune I think was from a movie soundtrack around 1982-83. Title would be something like "Just Another Girlfriend"

Oh, yeah, I remember this one. Funny, but I haven't heard it in 20 years and I could still sing the lyrics....
