That's not really a good idea, considering the bassline is mainly built on paralleling the saxophone in both style and intonation. The slap/pop base that he builds on with a more melodic mixture of slides and fun with the wah pedal are not mean to convey the feel of a traditional jazz combo, but work more as a duet with a drum back-up. The pianos would directly oppose this idea and there wouldn't be much play back-and-forth to work with.

This could have used guitar, though. To keep the chords.

I use warwick black label roundwound on the Luthman, and ghs piccolo on the jazz bass also roundwound.

I guess the smooth and jazz y sound comes from my EQ. I like that kind of sound!! Hope this help!!
