I tried that on my computer but it didn't work. I have the skid row torr,ent. I try opening just the dirt 3 icon and nothing happens and when I try opening dirt3_game, xlive is mlissing. And gfwl won't install on my pc keeps telling there's more to download then run, and so on endless loop. I think I'm going to give up on this game but I definitely won't buy it.

Ignore the idiots. Thanks for posting even though I fixed my issue before I watched. Running on XP, its just really a matter of installing GFWL and it will magically enable this "steam" game to run. (I think there's a conspiracy between the game companies and we should all get free games for a year!)

Instead of doing all of this you can just install openal in the skidrow folder and it will run perfectly

@Tanmaybagwe then that is a hardware problem, this wont fix that :s check the wires that go into the back of your disc drive, check they are all secure. if that fails, try another disc in the drive, if that doesent work either, its likely that your drive is broken, then you should buy another or ask around, they are very cheap.

Disable every icon on your system tray! Specially wireless mouse or keyboard tray programs. That did the trick for me. If you also have the same problem with Dirt 2 and F1 2010, do the same thing!

@Buttefly4Lady Same thing happened to me... run the sign-in assistant exe file and select remove to uninstall anything that might be lingering on your PC. Then, after restarting your PC, re-install the sign-in assistant and it should be there in services :D
