Creative Vado review

I bought one of these from ebay for 20 quid and it's done me ok for making youtube music vids.. not the best quality, but when you're editing the vids and adding psychadelic visuals, you can get away with it.

Now I want to do some straight forward quality vids in the studio.

SO... it's time to upgrade.... There's absolutely loads of camcorders out there..

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A GOOD UPGRADE TO THIS THAT WON'T BREAK THE BANK.. 50-60 QUID-ish second hand !!

Can i Just add that if you are going to use it on a mac a planing to edit with imovie 09, to go for the flip because the avi files created by the vado wont import into imovie. sure you can use the vado central to import them but the sound on the video ends up messed up. if you have a mac go with the flip. Just putting this piece of info out there, because apart from that its an excellent cam

FYI, i just got one and on the package it states that the VADO may cause cancer and to wash your hands after handling, they hide that fact under the flap on packaging! CREATIVE SUCKS!

I've got a creative vado and my brother has a flip, all in all i think the vado is better and i'm not just saying that because i have the vado... for 1 its a lot more portable and stylish than the flip, secondly it has a much bigger screen so you can see the video alot clearer than the flip. In my opinion the only way the flip is better is the clour quality on the flip compared to the vado. On the vado the colour looks sort of faded, but on the flip it has a nice rich colour.

Well, when I was using creative zen v plus I could charge it with my ps2 while it was and I was watching a movie. I suppose you could try it with this.

The creative Vado is a decent pocket camcorder. Personally though if you can spare an extra $40-$50 then I would buy the Flip Mino due to its slightly better picture quality(mostly in low-light conditions), mic, and editing software.

And creative said it will be avaivable in more colours in the future. Im getting one on the 25th and reviews have been effing great so cheers for vado!

Pc Advisor Has Given The Creative Vado A Bad Review As Poor Quality On Filming And When Uploading To Youtube And The 2+zoom is Also Dodgy And It Wasn't Designed For A Computer As It Hangs Once The USB Is Charging The Battery It Is Mainly Designed For A Lap Top Sound Quality Is Mono And Poor.

Honestly, Vado kicks ass, No Matter Even If You Use Capitals To Get Some Attention (I presume, wow)

I would not worry about PC Advisor. They are as credible as my gf's mom and that should tell you something. Check out pocket-lint or techradar reviews: Vado passed all tests flying, unlike the Flip. To me it matters when I see side by side amateur clips and they prove the Vado rocks. I have also used Creative computer webcams for years and they are top-notch.

Im having kinda the same issue...exept mine go on WMM, but it killed all my songs, so it says "Windows Movie Maker has generated an error and must close" And its SRSLY aggravating me, and not only that when I publish a movie on WMM from my vado, half the screen goes green.......And its aggravating me bad, I dont know how to fix my movie maker.... gahhh so aggravted X_X

I just bought one myself today for $97 US at Fry's. Impressive product. Sure, it's no-frills, but who wants a $300 camera for Youtube vids when this one works great, right? :)

Once I know I need real camcorder I'll get it but at this point I am not ready to spend $300-$3000 on gear. So Vado is a good option. In the end it is talent that matters - not so much the camera - when you are making movies :)

Not everyone has $1000+ to spend on a high-end camcorder. This one is inexpensive, small, easy to use, has good vid and sound quality, a facility for Youtube and Photobucket uploading, does NOT install software on your hard drive, and retails for under $100 US.

All good selling points if you ask me.

I saw other reviews saying that the quality matches a Nokia phone.

(And btw: you can get a good Sony Cam for about €300,- (mini-disc/mini-tapes) or €600,- (hard disc) and it'll last longer.

mobile phones are for calling and texting but not for filming. The camera in a mobile phone is there just to help it sell but it is mediocre at best. I have ordered Vado anyway.

If you want to make (real) movies, buy a camcorder.

If you want to make low quality videos, buy a mobile phone and update it with a memory card.

The idea is good, but it's 10 years late.
