I work next to the white house. This was the vice president. He enters the white house area on the 17th st NW side, travels down Penn. Ave, and south on West Executive Ave, past the checkpoint. The president goes in the south enterance.

Definitely not the president. He has a large, black truck that carries communications equipment, a long stream of vans for the press, and an ambulance in the back. This was either just an important dignitary, or perhaps a cabinet official... maybe the first lady

yea that was the prez i was in wash d.c. just the other night and we saw him in that exact same kind of line up over by the park with the homless lady i know i t was him cuz he got out and waved then got in and drove away .... i feel creeped by those guys tho they dont kid around xD

And theres a youtube video showing whats inside one of those suburbans.... if you knew what was inside it, trust me, you would never want to run up on a presidential motorcade. Secret service is NO JOKE on the motorcades.

You Got It All Wrong! The Back Is Open Because There Is A Machine Gun Back There For Protecting The President InCase Anything Thing Happens! Also The President Was In There Due To The Fact Of The Secret Service Had There Cars Bumber To Bumber On The Car The President Was In. (the president always cant ride with the best protection, thats why the cars was going fast to get to the location!)

that was not the president because for one there will bd more police. 2 the president has flag on his car and 3 there are more motocrcle cop and police car who would escourt him so it was probley a congressman or secretary plus the cars were probley going fast since the person had to go somewhare fast to a meeting or something as the congressman main building.

that wasn't the president - the motorcycles kinda cruised through way too early, and there isn't many vehicles. wikipedia says a presidential motorcade consists of up to thirty cars.

Don't believe everything on wikipedia. The motorcycles are supposed to cruise that early to identify any threats before the actual motorcade rools through, plus to stop any traffic along the way.

i think it was the vice president. condeleeza rice came to the park hyatt in dc and they only had two suburbans. the vice president usually rides in the two old cadillacs like the ones in this video. plus they had the motorcycle escorts... i think it was the vice or a dignitary. and the back is open for the agent sitting in the rear with a machine gun (i don't remember what it's called, but it's there) and he is in a custom rear facing third row seat. hope this helps guys and girls

Im pretty sure, that none of you know what you're talking about, If it was the President there would be more police units. If it was the VP, their wouldn't be a seal on the door, and the Secret Service doesnt want you to know who their moving, coulnt have been someone too important, i got yelled at for stepping on the Lawn near the lincoln Mem. because Marine One was landing w/ a foriegn Prime Min. so the idea that you would be that close to the cars means it prolly wasnt anybody too important.

Actually, let me explain. First off the Presidents Limo's are protected with 5" thick Balistic armor, the windows are so heavely protected that they don't open and the block the natural sunlight. Also, the limo's during the motorcade switch formation ( One in front drops back to the second ) So you can't tell which car the VIP is in. Secondly the back of the SUV is open for a quick exit in the event of an attack. In the event of an attack the Limo's and 2 SUV's will drive off. other 2 wills stay

Aswell as if the limo's don't have the flags it isn't the president. They have a special evade and exit meneuver that they use incase the motorcade is hit. The limo the president is in can withstand a RPG shot straight into the window it won't bust. The tires are run flat tires and the doors are so heavy they require compressed air to open them. That car is sealed ( Air tight ) to prevent any noxious gas from entering.

This motorcade was that of the Vice President. Most of the times the Presidents Limo does have flags on the fenders, but, there are times that the President's Limo doesn't have flags on the fenders. The Vice President only has flags on the fenders for special occassions.

Actually I'm pretty sure the back of the SUV is open for the Secret Service's uniformed division tactical team who leave the back open for easy exit in case of an emergency.

that guy below is an idiot. there is no mini gun in the back. watch the discovery channel show on secret service. some of their SUVs are smaller and dont the suicide doors in the back only the flip up. so they just leavue up when on streets just in case the car behind them is compromised or rushed by someone/group of people.

There was no presidential seal on either limo. At least not that I could see. If you noticed with Bush's other motorcades he has that massive black truck a few cars behind his. There wasn't in this one; Cheney's doesn't have one-if you look at others[videos].

dignitaries have escorts that large.Veeps convoys

either from the Observatory(official residence) to

the WH or elsewhere 3 or 4 vehicles including limo

The back is open because the automatic weapons carried in the USSS Suburbans tend to shoot better when there is not a window in their way. That's my guess anyway.
