would love to see some mighty sphincter video's from the ron wreckless era.ron was the real deal, one beautifully sick and twisted individual.after he left the band became a parody and inspired more laughter than fear.
check out the earlier stuff......the original singer sounds like a punrock ozzie and it rocks more with all sorts of oddd timings and whatnot.......think they were going for a more ambiant 'goth' sound here.......actually, i'd love to see videos of the original band live: do they exist?
Oh yeah, forgot the "seven minute waist " remark ha ha. Tell me how you do it? Your insight just might help the U.S. obesity problem.Your fathead could probably use a bit of weight loss.
Respectfully, I doubt that a redneck teenager living in Ohio (or Florida, same difference) would have had access to The Mighty Sphincter, pre-internet. I'm sure his head spun when he found out that someone had done his schtick, better, twenty years earlier. It's all good.
@beowulven i bought my first mighty sphincter album at turtle's, gadsden alabama (yep, alabama), 1987... new manson family. i'm not sure when the internet started but that was way before i had it. when i'm done making love to my moms and sisters i like to listen to 'em to wind down.
@beowulven I know your comment is a year old, but I have to say, Manson was more influenced by Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne. What gothicism he does have comes from David Bowie. Everything else is shock-rock.
my aunt Carol dated the singer like 10 years ago. funny, even back then I heard of them even before my aunt introduced us... anyone remember the Metro? or the Underground club?
My favorite Phoenix band. I miss Placebo Records. I wish Tony Victor would reissue this, JFA, Zany Guys, Soylent Green, Sun City Girls, etc. What a great fuckin' music scene.
Definitely wacked, grim and hilarious! That's why I love it. Early goth and Death Rock had a sense of humor about it all in sharp contrast to the crap bands like Nightwish or Within Temptation dredge up.

haha heres that jon waters lookalike again only this time he is spitting fake blood.... man the 80's were hilarious. you gotta wonder what happened to these freaks?
They claimed that on back cover "The New Manson Family" LP, but were contacted by Alice's lawyers, and took it off. I had one of the originals. Damn that AC leaking and ruining my vinyl collection!!
greg kept me seeing pretty colors much of my youth in phoenix. I remember seeing them in a giant dilapidated church downtown being, well, medicated....and feeling the fingers of evil.......
fuck me. this is grimmmm! i never even know Mighty Spinchter had a video, so this is a real treat. the most overlooked and underrated deathrock band EVER!
Thanks for posting this Dwid, I hope all is well. Marty(Sacramento)

Could've been a huge influence on Marilyn Manson, but Brian was probably listening to Rush instead...
