I'm curious to know what other people's methods are for writing piano music. Like, what is your process? Personally, I arbitrarily play random keys in many different combinations until I have a few notes that agree with each other (i.e. sound beautiful). I then take this "part" of the song and repeat the process to make other parts. Then I chain them together, sometimes sacrificing certain notes to make the transitions into other parts seem more believable. And that's it.

Why is it that in the opening of the video, the c major chord is triad but going into the justin timberlake song the 3rd note is being expelled from the chord?
