  • and in todays world the big problem with same sex marriage i think is the courts dont know who to give the shaft to,does the male that takes it more often get 80% of the stuff or does the bull dyke lose her house and half her millions of dollars she had before the marriage? in general idc if you wanna ruin your life just to do a gesture that back when marriage started till death do us part was 10-15 years topsif the one didnt get the flu, or the man wasnt sent to die in a war

  • lol I've thought of that. Ironically, I think it's the strongest point someone can make against gay marriage. In the end you have to ask yourself if even our current methods of determining what's fair in a divorce are correct.

I'm not a divorce lawyer, and there's a reason they get paid a lot of money. That's hard stuff and if you don't know what you're doing you can get majorly shafted.

I wonder what a divorce attorney makes in Massachusetts. Do some specialize in gay marriage?

  • Ron is right on. The dollar will die without drastic I mean drastic change and that most likely won't happen in Washington.

  • Thanks for posting & allowing comments too.

I bought gold & silver 10/16/09. I'd like to vote for Dr Ron Paul. I donate money to his campaign.

Dr Paul is educated & honest, unlike the Fed.

I often have a nightmare I am trapped on Titanic. I believe the James Cameron movie is a metaphor for the USA. The ship represents the machinery that is the USA. Bruce Ismay = Federal Reserve/AIPAC.

Capt = Prez. Crew = bureaucrats. Iceberg= Legislation/budgets. Water = Federal Debt. Passengers = taxpayers.

  • my heart broke when he said he doesn't have plans to run in 2012.

  • Dr! Paul wants no govt involvment in businesses--he's a little sketchier on no govt involvement in the lives of gays and lesbians.

  • wtf? no he's not. He says he doesn't approve of their lifestyles but the government has no place to tell them if they can get married or not.

Look up the Gibson interview right here on youtube. He discusses it.

  • Which is another way of saying he's not in favor of doing anything.

  • Sorry, I said Gibson for some reason, it's John Stossel who interviewed him. Look it up.

    watch?v=A6a9549ZeqQ @ 2:01.

Stossel: "Should gays be allowed to marry?"

Dr. Paul: "Sure. They can do whatever they want and they can call it whatever they want just so long as they don't expect to impose their relationship on somebody else. They can't make me personally accept what they do, but gay couples can do whatever they want. In fact, I'd like to see all governments out of the marriage question"

  • "so long as they don't expect to impose their relationship on somebody else."

What does that mean? He's no different than any religious conservative. He's not supporting gay marriage. He wants govt our of marriage? Right, so when's he getting the divorce and having to jump through all the legal hoops gays and lesbians do to insure their rights (assuming the state allows it)?

  • What is your idea of gay marriage? What was marriage before government got involved anyways?

Your idea of gay marriage is "they should have what we have" right? Well if the government plays no role in ANYONE's marriage, then they'll have what we have right!?

Maybe its that you think they deserve the tax breaks married couples get. Well he'd have such drastic tax cuts across the board that wouldn't even matter.

So what's this really about? He's talking about equal rights, you're not.

  • Under the eyes of the law gays should have the same rights as heterosexuals in regards to marriage. I'm talking about the way things are not the way you think they "should" be. When Ron Paul creates a federal law that the govt isn't involved in marriage I'll take your b.s. seriously. As it is now it's just you and Ron saying "the govt treating you like second class citizens just isn't important to us."

  • Way to attack someone who's actually on your side, you douche bag. I'm a proponent for homosexual marriage and see it as a step in the right direction to allow it, morally and intellectually so.

Ron Paul sees what you do as no business of his, and thinks the government shouldn't disbar people like you from living your life the way you see fit. What fucking more do you want? Some handouts? Why should married people get tax cuts anyways? Isn't that discriminating against ugly people?

  • And sure, why shouldn't gays and lesbians get the same tax breaks as everyone else? As well as hospital visitation rights, right of attorney, and the thousands of other rights drunks get when they get married in Vegas.

  • Hey I'm all for that. If we can't get the government out of marriage, then I STILL think homosexuals should be allowed those rights as well.

  • Get the Govt out of marriage first then lecture me on libertarianism. We're looking at it the way it is now--not in some Ayn Rand dream world.

  • btw you should check out all parts of that 6 part interview. It's what made me vote for him in the primaries.

  • I will not vote for someone who "does't approve of my lifestyle". I don't care if I agree with him on many other issues. Libertarians are always trying to get gay votes but they don't want to actually do anything to help us in our struggle for equal rights. They're no better than Republicans or conservative Democrats in that.

  • @MaryJesusJoseph Its foolish to DEFINE your life on who you have sex with. Find something that is more important to identify yourself with. Like your accomplishments... One of those accomplishments can be civil rights for gays and I 100% support you on that. But to not vote for someone because of you private actions is not a legitimate reason...

  • Spoken like a heterosexual so used to his privileged position he doesn't even recognized his entitlement. I don't DEFINE myself by who I sleep with, but the US citizens and govt have chosen to single me out for who I love. You hets are so used to your special rights you don't even see that they are special rights.

  • I don't attack you for being gay so don't attack me for being straight, seriously. You want to piss me off?

Your assumption that I don't recognize a failure to provide true equality to every citizen of this nation because of my sexual orientation is despicably and disgustingly ignorant, but above all else, offensive as fuck.

A lot of people are ignorant and don't understand you, but DON'T JOIN THEM. Don't attack the ones who are rooting for you.

  • I didn't attack you for being straight--I pointed out that as a straight person you're already privileged in this country and you don't even reailize it.

In what way are you rooting for gays and lesbians?

  • I root for them with my vote and my efforts to show others the good in equal rights.

  • But then you threaten me that if I bring up the privileged position of heterosexuals in this society you'll withhold support.

  • When did I threaten that I'd remove my support?

I find most homosexuals to be repugnant and annoying. One on the internet isn't enough to change my views on equality.

    Equality for all benefits all.

  • Funny, I didn't see this comment 2 weeks ago--now I see how funny it is that you'd say "I find most homosexuals to be repugnant and annoying" yet criticize me for saying heterosexuals had a sense of entitlement that they weren't even aware of--it's like you proved my point.

  • I have to accept homosexuality to root for equality?

I'm aware of my sense of entitlement. I'm entitled, since I wasn't born gay, to live a life that doesn't involve ever having to know what it feels like to be treated like smut simply because of something I can't control. I'm a boring white straight middle class male.

Tell me a reason why that should keep me from advocating gay marriage again?

Your anger for the ignorant is understandable, but I am not your enemy.

  • BTW, when I say "accept homosexuality" I mean like it. I'm not so dumb as to say I'll dislike gays simply because they're gay, but I find the majority of them to be very annoying.

I really don't see how this has anything to do with anything.

I'm annoying as shit to a LOT of people. Would they want to take away my right to marriage because of it? Maybe, but most likely not.

  • marriage is religious its not a concern of gov.

a legal union like what a marriage licenses are, is pretty much constitutional and should be implemented

  • And when you allow some people to get a marriage license but you don't allow others, you are defining what marriage is, which is religious.

If my religion says that homosexual marriage is ok, then the government is discriminating against my religion by not issuing a marriage license, or by not acknowledging my marriage.

These reasons and more are why legalizing gay marriage is the right thing to do.

  • What religion because buddist dont say nething about it, and all other religions say gaysex is bad, besides islam that says sodomizing is bad

  • Well I have no idea lol. BUT, if Scientology is considered a religion, then it's safe to say any large congregation of people who believe in the same thing can start their own religion. See where I'm going?

For the sake of the argument, lets omit this idea and address this issue in the eyes of a gay atheist. If the definition of marriage is the responsibility of churches, then pushing this definition on someone who has no religious beliefs flies in the face of separation of church and state.

  • "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ."

So there you go. That sentence alone is enough to justify taking out the government's role to define marriage. It makes absolutely no sense, especially when we're all supposed to be free, that gay people can't exercise what really is just a ceremonial event

I'm also in favor of legalizing polygamy for Mormons who wish to practice it, so long as women aren't forced in of course

  • well really in the end marriage has been a religious ceremony for as long as history has been around, so that is what people get caught on, and now their are only a handful of main stream religions without their branches and they all say no same sex marriage. so you kinda proved my point with that quote but in general marriage it isnt a religious word so same sex marriage should be legal but why get fundamentalist that would kill you pissed off by not accepting a word being changed.

  • Well, there used to be people that would do the same if black people were ever allowed to drink from the same water fountain as them. Where are they today? We swept them aside and as time progresses, more people move away from that ignorance.

Those people are clowns, equivalent to village idiots. Does a village stop doing things the right way and alter their behavior or laws because of what the village idiot says? It makes no sense that we listen to someone who's blatantly wrong.

  • @MaryJesusJoseph If it was up to him he would just live you to live your life there would be no laws made.

  • I'll tell you what, once Ron accomplishes that I'll take him seriously. But even at that--it seems like Libertarians are far more concerned about getting the govt out of business so they can make more money exploiting the less fortunate than they are about getting the govt out of the personal lives of gays and lesbians and pregnant women.

  • He isn't a libertarian, and the fact that you capitalized that word worries me.

Ron Paul will never accomplish anything like this because you, and people LIKE you, all have their reasons for thinking his notions are too kooky to work and you don't vote for him.

If he sees no reason for government to be involved in marriage and he can't get gov't out of marriage, then the next logical step is to equalize the right to marriage across the board, eliminating any distinct role the gov't has.

  • Why should it worry you that I capitalize Libertarian? And why should I vote for Ron Paul when he will do nothing to help me?

  • It's just the over-political correctness that I'm getting sick of.

I want nimrod to be capitalized from now on too. Will you do that? You'll offend me if you don't! :D

Ron Paul actually has a more sensible way to bring equality to this country than anyone else I've listened to

  • Wow, you're really sensitive. I don't believe I've ever used the word nimrod. And until Ron Paul actually demonstrates an interest in equal rights for gays I don't think he has any. What "over-political correctness" are you talking about? That gays and lesbians want equal rights--how horrible!

  • No I didn't mean it to say that you're calling me a nimrod (just a little self-deprecating humor to lighten the mood is all.)

And, over PC meaning, if you don't capitalize Libertarian then all the libertarians get upset and offended.

In my mind, best case scenario is that Ron Paul gets our spending under control, and once things get a little greener, someone like Dennis Kucinich comes in and progresses domestic policy. Seems like a logical way to progress without going bankrupt.

  • @MJJ: You're gay-centric. Think about it. How incredibly stupid would an aspiring politician have to be to run around waving a gay-rights banner? Why are gay rights different from human rights? Are you saying that because you're gay, you're not human? Do you need more rights than straight people?

I say do away with entitlements like tax credits and benefit sharing schemes. What would you whine about in that scenario?

  • Yeah, which is why I will NEVER support Ron Paul no matter how much these lying sack of shit libertarians claim he's not anti-gay. You're right, gay rights are not different from human rights so when gay people get the same rights as all other humans you can criticize me for being "gay-centric" and I won't think you're a douche.

  • Yes, I see. In your mind, every malfeasance of the body politic must be viewed from the perspective of the gay community.

I am anti-gay. Only because this lifestyle cannot reproduce itself. However, I would never impose my views upon you.

Can you say the same for me?

Good for you, you're gay! I wouldn't want you replicating yourself on my planet, anyway.

  • the guy at about 6:00 reminds me of halvcon or whatever that spammer's name is

    Blaming the jews for everything.

  • Who said Jews were to blame? Name him. Maybe you just started your quest "down the rabbit hole", or maybe you are an accomplished disinfo agent, or somewhere in between.

It doesn't matter. Wherever you are, know that the game is up. Too many know the truth. Game over;)

  • sock puppet much?

  • @ who so i can rag on him as well :)

  • Lincoln printed like 400 something

million during the civil war didnt he?

idk thats just something on saw

    on a Rothschilds documentary

  • I will say this. Businessmen do business, but the government has more responsibility for China because of the wreck less trade agreements they created and pushed to gut our manufacturing base. It's wasn't China, it was the US government that sold us out.
