Great in-joke! The wooden figure on the floor at 0:07 is the idol from the 1935 Tintin book 'The Broken Ear' The figure HAS a broken ear. Have seen the whole film, and yes, it's as wonderful and bonkers as the trailer suggests. Louise Bourgoin is quite delicious. Oh, you would...
Jacques Tardi is the cartoonist, but Adele Blanc-sec books aren't yet available in english. He has three translated books, It Was The War of The Trenches, You Are There, and West Coast Blues, published by Fantagraphics. Blanc-sec is likely to be translated in a few years.
Many shots are pretty closely based on the comic.... I have a couple of those old volumes, I remember the mummy with the tea, the big egg, the bath scene, the cigarette... there is such a strong element of fantasy in this movie world that I think we can forgive the realities of dactyl eggs. This comic was steampunk before it was cool. I don't see us arguing reality with Jules Verne.
Jesus christ!!! I didn't know they were making a film adapation of Adéle Blanc-Sec!!! Awesome!!! It's been one of my fave comic books for so many years!!!
This looks interesting, especially being from Luc Benson, but the freakin' huge pterodactyl egg is ridiculous. There has never been any creature in prehistoric history that could lay an egg so big, especially a dactyl. Their eggs were quite close to an ostrich's in size. Other than that stupid error, the film looks fun.
Well, it's not a documentary film, they don't have to follow what's real or not real. Besides, he could hardly change it since it's such an integrated part of the comic book! xD.
phaota @GyntherMeyer I figured that it was probably part of the original comic story. Now that I think about it, it would seem the egg is fake anyway, being that there is a fully grown dactyl inside it. So, the question is, who made the egg container and why did they put the reptile in it? Seems the creature has gone mad while in its egg stasis too, considering how crazy it acts in the preview.
aww, did I hurt your feelings? I assume you have never seen real tits in your life that these 0.13 seconds in a movie trailer get you so excited that this was the old word you could think of.
And yes it's fun commenting on things like that. :)
Man, if its as great as The Fifth Element (and is definitely looks as if), then I have to see that one.
Normally I hate fantasy, because its by definition sci-fi for retards. But Besson has this unique artistic style, where he transports the feeling of that reality into you. Usually that results is a pretty great movie experience. And — this being the superset of just the story or just the style — after all, thats what its all about. :)
Evi1M4chine: "Normally I hate fantasy, because its (sic) by definition sci-fi for retards". What a crock. The vast majority of sci-fi that actually makes it to the screen these days has become as dumb as a box of hair, and most of the sci-fi I've read recently isn't much smarter. I used to have the same prejudice, but I've since learned better. You really need to read some Jim Butcher to figure out just how dead wrong you are.
No disrespect to NoirFemme but I want to know WHEN it is to be released. What I mean is that I don't want to just hope. I want it hear like now. That looked great!

I love how this is an action packed fantasy sci-fi not American film. There is something about French films that put in a new refreshing irony...

@0:08 zie ik toch duidelijk het houten beeldje uit Kuifje en het Gebroken Oor, is dat een grapje van de regie?
@0:08 i see the little wooden statue from TinTin and the Broken Ear, is this a directors joke?

The movie is an adaptation from a comic book and in the comic the egg is really that size. It' s not an error: Besson just follows the book closely.

LOL two and a half minutes of amazing images and a great trailer and all you see is the two frames of nipples. Sad, sad!

Sadly, this video will likely be taken down by American puritans. Looks like an amazing movie, but Americans are afraid of nipples.
