@onelonelywhitekid: recording acoustic piano is not easy. You need to start with a piano that is in tune and properly voiced, and then have a room/space that is big enough (i.e., this room is too small). From my own experience, I think that it is best NOT to have the microphones too close to the piano. When the microphones are too close, they pick-up mechanical noise which is normally not heard in the audience--it sounds artificial. For this video, I just set-up the camera and pressed record.
Good to meet a dog that appreciates good music :) beautifully articulated melody too, nice work. Some people wd bash their way through this, but you bring the subtleties through nicely.
lol this is exactly what i look like when i play the piano , when i play good music , i suddenly get connected with the piano and i feel like im the music itself , nice job :)) ihope to be like you when i grow up , im 13 :)
very very nice ! i've seen so many chopin performance videos lately where the melody gets completely drowned out by the left hand because it is so powerful. but yours shines through. beautiful, beautiful job. even a smidge slower for my taste would be perfection. but i am still in awe.
You exhibited total control of a difficult and emotional piece! Thanks for the post, I enjoyed this A flat interpretation the most, the most ideal. Your students are very fortunate to have you as their teacher.
Wow! I love how you're not being so harsh with the upper octaves - so many people beat this piece to shreds. Refreshing beyond words - an excellent interpretation for an almost over-played work. You've made me go from liking the piece to loving it! Brava!
And I absolutely love Katy! I have a shih-tzu, also - a boy. He likes to sit next to me at the bench and howls every once in a while when I play fortissimo. xD
I'm back! I love how you make this look so EASY! I'm currently struggling with this piece. Ugh! I'm using this video as a guide to help me with my technique.
You are magnificent and should make recordings. You play so professionally.
LOLOLOL! I never saw a dog (or cat for that matter, any pet) sitting on TOP of a piano, fully OPENED as someone plays! LOL! This is SO cute! She's just sitting there so ADORABLE! She's taking away from your performance. lol She's so calm and not bothered by the loud playing.
Your playing is EXCELLENT! I LOVE the way you play this like my CD's. I've heard all types of other interpretation, but I love this the best. This is the REAL CHOPIN's interpretation of this piece.
The way you play this famous Polonaise is exactly the way I would have wanted to play it myself if I wasn't so clumsy......Some people say we have doubles far away in the world.....maybe we are musical twins...!!!
I love your dog.....give Katy a big hug for me......
Katy, my baby, wants to be under the piano, on the music bench, or on top of the piano when ever the piano is being played. Between my students and myself, there is at least 10 hours of playing every day, but she never gets tried. I am always so surprised that it is not so loud for her! But she cries if she is not in the room when music is being played.
This was such a hard piece to develop my own interpretation, since I am so familiar and respect Rubensein's interpretation of this piece.
@kanamimaki If you can play like this, why worry whether or not you're influenced by Rubenstein. And besides, it's a wonderful influence! But I think I should report this canine to Bosendorfer at once! I think it must void the warranty! :o)
amazing

How do you record your videos? Not so much the video quality, but the sound quality is quite clear. I need help on recording acoustic pianos

Reminds me of the female version of Charlie Brown's Snoopy and Schroeder.
