Robert T. is at the second place - for the time being he's been playing 8 years (2003-2011) but Cliff was the man who had the biggest influence on Metalica's music although he played only 4 years ('82-'86). He died in '86 in the band's bus accident

The mustaine riffs (ie, the Diamond Head:ish riffs) were mostly present om KEA, Mustaine has written similar but different riffs all during his career (not all the time though), while Metallica pretty much stopped doing that after their first album.
