Damn, Atomic were brilliant but disgustingly unlucky. I think out of all the robots in the competition, only Atomic, Bigger Brother and Firestorm would ever have been able toflip over and KO Typhoon. I hate those angle grinders, the only thing they ever did was ruin fights, like this one, like S3 vs Dantomkia, and many more.

I don't think Bigger brother could because of the lack of width of their flipper. Bulldog Breed could be a decent match to Typhoon though.

@Madbutcher305 now i think about it, I think Lightning (lost to gravity in heat d final) would have been very effective, they could get up to 20 MPH and the nearly-flat slope of the wedge meant it would take far less damage than most robots from the spinner, then it could drive under and flip them over.

Yeah, Lightning could work. Tough As Nails would have sauntered through Typhoon though as it had extremely heavy armor and much more pushing power, plus the clamp and the width. Usual tactics and it would be an easy victory.

@Madbutcher305 I agree, TAN and Kan Opener could both do that tactic and have an easy win. Thermidor could have won easily had it not been so unreliable, one hit to the flipper and it conked out =( Shame really.

@SeriousGamer2009 I agree with your suggestion that Kan Opener could beat Typhoon. In fact, and I'm sure you already know this, they were responsible for Typhoon's early exit in the Annihilator, when their jaws went straight through the spinning shell and stopped it.

Typhoon 2 should have been banned from competing, that is the top and bottom of it, it's clearly way more powerful than Mauler (American competitor banned from the 1st World Championship)

The reason Atomic missed with the flipper is because it hit the angle grinder. If that wasn't there then Typhoon 2 would have been flipped over and maybe out of the arena.

Typhoon had a easy ride after this match in the grand final cos they were pitted against the slowest robot in x-terminator and had the judges in their back pocket

It is...painful to watch this and wonder what could've been for one of my favourite robots ever... it would have had beaten X-Terminator...and think...it's wedge wouldn't have buckled like Firestorm's had against Storm II...it would have been Epic if these underdogs in Atomic had gone through.

Every time I hear Typhoon's engine slowly increase its revs, it sends chills down my spine. It's a frightening, yet brilliant build-up. Also, that first impact on Atomic is so violent, I'm just left shaken.

If that's not the best hit of the series, I don't know what is.

I knew Atomic was a great robot! When i saw it fight Chaos 2 in Series 4, i knew it just had a really unlucky meeting. Then they meet Hypno-Disc if it was in Series 5 or 6, that sucked badly for them. And here, this is so unlucky. Fuck Typhoon.

Atomic was so unlucky in this battle, they were much better than last time and could have reached the Grand Final, but a mistimed flip ruined their chances. I think Atomic could have beaten X-terminator and maybe Storm 2. On another note, Atomic seems to be one of Sir Killalots favourite chew-toy, since everytime Atomic loses, it ends up in Killalot's jaws.

@demonduri Atomic was a good robot in series 7, in series 4 they were nowhere near, but it was bad luck, flipping robots do that, and the only tactic they had was to flip them out of the arena early on, they couldn't have waited, otherwise the moment they got near Typhoon, they'd be as dead as Thermidor from the previous round... although, what would've happened if Atomic had succeeded and flipped Typhoon out?? Atomic would be through to the final against Xterminator... Then what??

@ABoredStudent2010 Atomic vs X-Terminator, i'd go with Atomic, all it would need is one good flip, it could go either way though. and as for flippng Typhoon 2 out of the arena, i don't think Atomic could, i think they'd would have to merely leave Typhoon 2 on its side, Typhoon 2's cone shape is a very difficult shape to deal with

I hate, HATE body spinners like Typhoon 2. They take absolutely no skill at all to drive, just run away until your robot is spinning fast enough then it doesn't matter who hits who, the other robot will still be the one taking damage however badly you drive. Storm 2 should have won the grand final and everyone knows it.

this was probabaly the most idiotic driving ever by team typhoon... if atomic were hit at the correct angle, they would be flipped up and over. if they did it after refbot counted them out, thats one thing, but taking that sort of a risk against such a great machine is not very smart. against some random trash like cygnus x-1 is okay, but this is just unbelievable
