A few guys attempt to subdue the shooter, a thrown bottle, a distraction, anything. Kudos to the Officer, but this could have been over when they arrived. RIP Dime.

My two best friends whos in my band are never playing with us anymore, but I must respect their choice.....
I want to thank God for allowing me to witness this great band and guitarist live twice in my life. One of my best memories is of watching Pantera in Memphis on the Far Beyond Driven tour and jumping from the upper seated section down into the General Admission area and running up to watch Dime play the solo for Cowboys From Hell. Priceless my friend. He nailed it perfectly. Priceless.

In an interview a few months ago or maybe last year she said how Phil has changed, and there will always be a place in her heart for that Phil. The only one who still holds a grudge today is Vinnie. I just hope they make up soon, because Dime was a forgiving person, according to Rita. I know Dime would be pleased if Vinnie made up with Phil... They don't necessarily need to make music together.

Why do I get the feeling Anselmo's narcissism prevented him from true grief? He's half the man Darrell was; who cherished his band, friends and family. It's discomforting that he wasn't allowed to attend the funeral, but had he conducted himself more professionally when he wanted to do side projects (instead of dancing around it) it'd be different. It is sad that he is now reaching out, though, and being rejected. What a heartbreaking story...

@skaz777 Phil is by far NOT a low life. It wasnt his fault dime died and he regrets that it wasnt him on that stage that should have been hit. Hes got a lot of things to say (positive things). Watch the interview he did inside a university, talkin to college kids and he said some real deep stuff, some things i and most people had never heard existed. Axl on the other hand is a dick yes.

Dime didnt deserve phils beating. nathan gale did. nathan was let off easy. he deserved years of pain and torture for what he did. dimebag didnt deserve that. vinnie paul didnt deserve that. dimes girlfriend didnt deserve that. jerry, kat, phil, rex and all dimes buddies didnt deserve that. nathan gale should have been punished with years of pain for what hes done to them, and us. rip dime. we wont forget you.

What I don't get is why wasn't Phil the one shot? If the reasoning for the killing was right. ( Because Pantera broke up) Phil was the FIRST to move on. Not Dime. So Phil should of been the one dead. Its sad but true.

@MrSTFU592 Because it was Damageplan who was playing. also, Gale had delusions of Dime reading his mind and stealing his song ideas and lyrics. In his mind, Dime was that main target. I'm sure Phil would have been the next target if he got away, but I'm glad he didn't.

Why do I get the feeling Anselmo's narcissism prevented him from true grief? He's half the man Darrell was; who cherished his band, friends and family. It's discomforting that he wasn't allowed to attend the funeral, but had he conducted himself more professionally when he wanted to do side projects (instead of dancing around it) it'd be different. It is sad that he is now reaching out, though, and being rejected. What a heartbreaking story...

@sweetprism00 Sadly Phil has slow deteriorated as time has gone on. Alot of it is his narcissism, but also his heavy drug use has destroyed him also. It's really sad, I think deep down he may still be grieving, but he either wont show it publicly, or just can't show it anymore
