  • i think da music made the film cs da storylines shit really ott with no real point just a twist

  • You know what i hate? fight club comments ANYWHERE near a pixies song. Sorry to say it, pixies > fight club.

  • I discovered The Pixies through Fight Club. I now own Bossanova, Doolittle, Surfer Rosa, and Come On Pilgrim. Who gives a shit how they find it?

  • @SmoothHourglass Why don't you own Trompe Le Monde and Complete B Sides?

  • @TheEnchantingWizard1 I have sadly yet to run into them at any stores I go to. I'll probably end up ordering them online sometime.

  • This and Caribou are the best on this album I think.

  • lol never read youtube comments, buh

  • Re-reading Transmetropolitan has me wanting to listen to some Pixies. I guess I'm caught up in the wonderful wave of mutilation.

  • All I listened to in the 10th grade was the pixies. soo good.

  • @perhapswtf i'm in the 10th grade now, and all i've listened to this year, and last year, was Pixies(: awwww yeeeaaahhh

  • very underrated song

  • Lying in my own poo, just listening to good music as another anesthesia. Why cant I se the picture??

  • It#s all true.

  • I am so tired of this shit. Arguments like this are on any band/artist whose music was featured in a movie or television show. We all have to hear a particular band from somewhere, what the fuck? How else do you find out about a band? It doesn't matter how long you've listened to a band and it doesn't matter where you fucking heard it. If you like it, you like it. If you don't, that's o.fucking.kay too. God people are so fucking moronic.

  • @kurtywurty85 haha ! i couldnt agree more !

  • If there was any singer i liked, it would be black francis

  • Yah In Nirvana at a point thought they were a cheap imitation of the Pixies, but man, I love both of them I really don't care if they sound different Both of them are the shit

  • @SemiToneBlew d he was trying to (I don't remember de word) imitate the pixies when he created Smells like teen spirit

  • it reminds of relative bsnds like Smashing pumpkins, janes addiction,Pearl jam.these are just what im thinking.what i really like is...NIRVANA,ALICE N CHAINS,SOUND GARDEN,and some others.but good song classic

  • If you dont like this song, at least a LITTLE, then i wouldnt piss in your mouth if the devil set it on fire! haha

  • Simply Amazing.

  • I like it :)

  • fabulous song, it reminds me so much of Nirvana

  • @ChrisHayate it's actually the opposite, in an interview kurt said. “I was Just Trying to Rip Off The Pixies.”

  • @ChrisHayate really because this kind of reminds me of smashing pumpkins.but i get your style i like nirvana too.these 90's bands are awesome

  • @killergame50 Nirvana and Pumpkins came well after the Pixies. Personally, I hated the '90s rock grunge. The '90s were one of the worst decades for music in general.

  • @DickLodge68 well yeah i still like some 90s songs.Im a diverse person i do like 90s and i like other music too.jazz, classical, hiphop,RnB,alternative,so i just listen to whatever catches my ears[metaphor].

  • @DickLodge68 what about pavement, radiohead, neutral milk hotel?

  • Comment removed

  • The best version of this song is the 1988 show in London.

  • :)

  • shakey shake

    shakay!

  • all you can relate to the " PIXIES' is through 'fight club, then you dont even deserve to have blessed your ears with their music. Fight Club. It is an amazing Book-Movie

  • Yo doods people should find music wherever it is...afterall if they had bad taste they wouldn't have liked "where is my mind" even though it was in FIght Club

  • "C'mon pligrim you know He loves you" - Larry Norman reference

  • Fuck pretentious music snobs.

  • @machinations7 fuck them and critics.i never understood how someone can write a review on an album if they have never wrote a decent song themselves

  • @louiscfc93 The ultimate farce of the music industry, I believe. Critics

  • youtube.com/watch?v=CAiRhVgNKmk

great cover of this awesome song :)

  • i didn't like fight club... I didn't even notice the music when I saw it years ago.

  • Does it really matter how people got to like one band or a track!? I don't think so... I am glad more people are being exposed to the music I like. It takes nothing away from the band or the track.

Same goes for people complaining about 'dislikes'. Love diversity.

  • elevator lady.!

  • the pixies made fight club cooler, and not the other way around

  • @tonydecoste very true.

  • @tonydecoste nah i though they complimented each other really well...fantastic movie n then boom...the buildings go n the guitars come in n its the pixies...great ending to one of the best films i have ever seen!

  • I don't think you can knock people for getting into a band because they heard a track on a movie..Imean some of us were blessed with an older brother or sister or even parents with a kick ass record collection that allowed us to refine our tastes others pick it up as they go along...i just pity those of the simon cowell brigade myself..other than that it's all good...anyhoo back to hunting down elusive tunes from the dim recesses of my memory ...

  • This song kicks ass. End of.

  • best part of this song: Kim's guttural barks

  • @heatherswanson

yeah, because everyone is automatically exposed to every band he/she will ever like and should never hear a song on a movie and decide to listen to it and learn more about the band and their music. who cares how someone on youtube hears about a band, grow the fuck up.

  • this kinda reminds me of the smashing pumkins.

  • They were more popular in the UK than the USA... signed to 4OD a UK label by Ivor Watts as nobody was interested in the US.... The US was still listening to Pat Benetar and MC Hammer when this EP came out. They were fucking legends in every British school & university before anybody had really heard of them in the US.

  • @willhum it's 4ad not 4od haha

  • @willhum it's 4ad not 4od haha and i think that is a bit of an exaggeration, sure they achieved more success in britain in their early carreer but commercially they weren't particularly successful on either side of the pond

  • @paulsbreakfast yep. Isaac Brock, i'm pretty sure, would have no problem admitting Pixies have shaped his view of music. but, then again, many bands will admit this, if i could play an instrument i would.

  • "He kicked a baby?!"

    Probably my favorite line.

  • Just found out today they are playing in lil' ol' Omaha, NE tonight. Had to go, I'm sure I'll never have a chance to see them again. Pixies rock like no other!

  • Seeing them next weekend in Dallas. I'm sooo Pumped! XD

  • i hate the people who only know the songs by some tv shows or dumb movies

  • I MISS THE FUCKING EIGHTIES!!!!!!!!!1

  • it doesn't fucking matter how someone got into a musical artist that they like now. all that matters is their own opinion about their own musical preferences.

  • @WanderLink thank you:D i hate fake muse fans.

  • dam those four!

  • I got introduced to the Pixies while tripping in the backseat of a car full of lesbians while the remains of a hurricane was wearing itself out but I guess hearing it on Fight Club is almost as good.

  • twilight sux and fight club the movie doesn't follow the book very well but oh well

  • is this frank black on this pic and if so does he have hairy back irl?

  • lets love each other hey - don't hate on things just because they're mainstream. thats just as bad as being a conservative hater. it really doesn't matter how anybody got into anything

  • I agree with the criticism on WanderLink: you need to discover a band somehow. If not through a friend or radio, it can be through a video game (e.g. GH or RB) or a movie. On the other hand: for movies mostly the poppy songs are used so a lot of people who're like "yeah, sounds great" are disappointed once they find out the other songs aren't as poppy. I was thinking right now of the Pixies' "Where is my mind?" from Fight Club, a song that most fans are 20 years tired already.

  • @YellowOnline Exactly. Being "introduced" to music by something you already like could be like a reccommendation. Whatever.

  • god i fuckin' loveee the Pixiessss

  • My fave from Pixies.

  • Get over yourselves you elitist pricks. Good music is good music no matter how you come to find it. Stop being such self-righteous "music appreciators" and let people like what they want to like.

  • lol @ people comparing fight club to twilight. and lol @ people who assume the people who like the pixies and fight club only like the pixies because of fight club. I like them both. I like the pixies because they are a brilliant band and I like fight club because its a great film. I liked the pixies first, but what's wrong with getting into a band because you heard their song in a film? For some people that's the first time they've ever heard that band, its not exactly their fault...

  • @ahadyama69

+1. I was 10 y.o. in 1990, and by the time I was old enough to appreciate this kind of music, Nirvana had already overtook the scene. I was more into Metallica and Pantera anyway, and had only heard of the Pixies.

Then came Fight Club. "That's a cool song to learn", I thought (I'm a guitarist).

And now I have the whole dicography and all the live DVDs I could find. I even went to see Franck Black and the Catholics live.

  • hairy biker back

  • If culture doesnt die why not.

If you kids sorted out La the world could be differant.

  • ahahah fuck u guys... ur makin me feel shitty theyre my favorite band but i got into them cuz of fight club. first heard them from that Hey youtube video.

  • You saw the film ... but did not read the book ... right? Palahniuk is mindboggling .. so are the pixies ... natural combination

  • I gott say I heard of The Pixies from Southland Tales, so I'm a new comer but I love their music.

  • "Now tell me what compares to Francis" how many people told david geffen to FTFO and are still alive, well, coherent, human, and to a limited extent making dope music. frank black is a fucking god!

  • black francis (at the time) spent like a year in mexico with normal (?) peasant folks it influences everything he did since the first record, including the wisdom to ditch the band once kim deal was callin the shots and also the SF direction he went in as his solo career at least for the first one album (teenager of the year).

  • Comment removed

  • Thank god I heard The Pixies from my weed dealer, and not fuckin Fight Club. haha My favorite song!

  • @Meatwad07 the movie and book of fight club are great

  • @WANDERLINK...funnny lol..

  • If one and and one is two... If one and and one is two... if one and two, won't you please count up to three? four if man is five and the devil is six.... then god is seven

  • I wish i'd a heard of this band before. But i know of them now! Thank you Fight Club!

  • hahaha holyshit i was about to type something along the same line's. well im glad for all of us

  • No offense but fuck Fight Club, that's like people who got into Muse through Twilight.

  • since when does it matter how you came to know a band, it's not as if you know the band the moment you are born. a lot of people are too young to have heard of the pixies when they were making their albums.

also you shouldn't compare twilight with fight club, and especially not muse with the pixies.

  • @bassguitar1992

I guess you're right about it not mattering how someone comes to music, but the other stuff I'd say you're wrong. Have you listened to Matthew Bellamy's lyrics? Lyrics about sanity, religion, aliens, surrealism, come on, there's a lot of similarities between Muse & The Pixies. They're both good bands. As for Fight Club, it sucks, it's a douchebag hipster movie, it's not real art like Lawrence of Arabia or Taxi Driver.

  • @WanderLink

Anyone can write lyrics about sanity, religion, aliens, and surrealism when they're written in the same insipid, tasteless, and cliche nature as Bellamy

  • How exactly is it insipid, tasteless, and cliche? They're like the only two people who write lyrics about those things in that surrealist way. If you think that of him then you'd have to think that of Francis. Like I said before, they're both good bands, that's my opinion.

  • @WanderLink "Is your secret safe tonight? And are we out of sight? Or will our world come tumblin' down? Will they find our hiding place? Is this our last embrace? Or will the walls start caving in?" "No one's gonna take me alive, The time has come to make things right, You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive," Now tell me how that compares to Francis
  • @WanderLink John Wozniak, Todd Lewis, Ken Andrews, Jack White, Damon Albarn.. that's all i gathered from a quick library scoop but... In terms of the ability to write lyrics of that caliber... i'm quite sure theres easily more than just those 2 guys. still a talent though, but I hate muse.

  • @WanderLink you just used "douchebag hipster" in the same sentence that you went on to say "it's not real art like Lawrence of Arabia"... Yes I'm sure those douchebag cardigans and fedora hats would clash with your turtle neck skivvy and ponytail.

  • Fucking right doggy!

  • dammit, i should have thought before posting an "opinion" on youtube. Its like handing dynamite to a kid with a book of matches.

  • @WanderLink you're adorable

  • @WanderLink excuse me.....but Fight Club is an amazing film and book, dont even use it and Twilight in the same sentence

i see where you're coming from though...

  • @WanderLink I agree, a ton of assholes hopped on the bandwagon after fightclub yet never bothered to go out and buy all the albums,

  • @octagon79 @octagon79 Who gives a shit about this nonexistent band wagon you speak of.

  • @octagon79 Get over yourself.

  • @WanderLink

fight club was a good movie, i can understand where you come from with the music, but dont drag Ed Norton into this lol

  • @WanderLink You shouldnt just attack people because they found a song through a movie. You have to find out about things somewhere. You should appreciate that they like the band. How did you find out about the Pixies? get over yourself

  • @WanderLink

    Two words: Tyler Durdan

  • @WanderLink that fact aside you have to admit it was a good film

  • @WanderLink How's that any different than finding the song through a friend or a website? No offense, but fuck (butt-fuck as well) people that hate on people for liking music because of a video game or commercial.

  • @WanderLink Does it really matter where someone heard a band they like? Get over yourself, and stop being such a fucking snob.

  • @WanderLink Well I was actually introduced to the Pixies from Fight Club buts its not like I only listen to where is my mind thats in fact not even one of my fav songs by them it doesn't matter how you find out about the band its whether or not you actually take the time to explore and get to know the band instead of only listening to what popular. peace.

  • @WanderLink I luckily didnt get into Pixies through Fight Club, but regardless its the best movie i have seen in my life

    so no, fuck you.

  • @Tsuta Read the book its fucking fantastic.

  • @WanderLink Go and eat a dick. Fight Club is a great movie, and the Pixies were a great choice to put on the soundtrack. And if it got more people listening to the Pixies, then where's the problem?

  • @WanderLink

r u fuckin serious? fight club is a CULT movie

  • @WanderLink i agree but fight club is still a good movie, but its better if you get into music from music, like i got into the pixies thru nirvana, thank u.

  • @WanderLink Fight Club is a great movie. Plus, I got into pixies through Southland Tales, not Fight Club... just kiddin. Still, two awesome movies, that go with awesome music, I like that people get to know the bands I like, f*ck all that "fake-fans" sh*t and let everybody enjoy great bands such as the pixies, no matter where they first heard them

  • @WanderLink Except that, Pixies, unlike Muse, were a band that actually had talent- and were inventive. And Fight Club, unlike Twilight, is a highly influential book and movie that is actually worth reading/watching.

  • @WanderLink So what? It's an awesome book/movie anyway. And if some kids, that don't know them get to know them through the movie and become inspired by them, what's the matter? Doesn't it fit into your little "trueness world"? Only people that have been listening to the music fpr ages are allowed to do so, or what?

  • @WanderLink Oh what, so you know Pixies personal then? No, I guess not. Then fuck your friend who told you about them, fuck the TV-station that aired a performance by Pixies and got you to like them, fuck the radio, etc. I've never seen a comment as pathetic as yours.

  • @WanderLink either way why does it matter waht connects people to music. i was 10 when i first seen fightclub and heard the pixes, now years later i still get to enjoy the pixes, but i will agree FUCK THOSE SPARKLING CLAMATO JUICE DRINKING McYMOUSE CLUB LOOSER!!! TEHRE'S ONLY ONE TRILOGY AND THATS RETURN OF THE JEDI !!!

  • @budd420man

I understand that you were ten, are you ten now? you don't know how to spell pixies and it's at the top of your screen. :P

that's nitpicking though. i get your point, i was lucky enough to hear the pixies long before i heard of fight club (i was behind on that trend), it's not a bad movie but you can understand that the association gets old. fans don't want pixies to have permanent connotations of the fight club soundtrack. they transcend that shit AND YEAH FUCK TWILIGHT :)

  • @WanderLink

Fight Club is a wonderful film based off an even better book by one of the most influential authors of our time, and perhaps the premier transgressionalist of all time.

    Muse sucks, Twilight regardless.

  • @LivesUnderABridge fight club is entertaining, but the author sucks and will be disregarded in time as a hack, unlike the pixies

  • @WanderLink

muse is in the twilight soundtrack? that's annoying. i'm not a big fan of muse but i definitely give them more cred than twilight; same for the freakin juno soundtrack, though that movie wasn't too bad. it's just that pixies extend way beyond that movie and if you have to say "I've liked them ever since fight club" then you were not paying as much attention to the music scene as was due.

  • @WanderLink

Who cares "how" someone got into a band? While I agree it isn't the most "ideal" way to find a band, if you are truly a fan you would support their success no matter how someone found them. Sounds like the most typical fan-elitism such as "I knew them before they were popular" and "I only listen to music you haven't heard of". Pixies have been around a while now, and its time to just be happy that people are finding their music and that it resonates with them on a personal level.

  • @WanderLink except muse was a lot more recent and more around the same era at least when pixies and this song were what like 20 years at least pre fight club and where is my mind which is a great song and i now fuckign hate haha cause of how blown up itt was sucks...

  • @BlueRainsRed ...wow, you hate Where Is My Mind because of how popular it is? It's one of the most fucking amazing songs of all time in so many ways, who gives a shit if you can't seem especially super duper "cool" for digging it

  • @daddyfatsaxohten

totally...hopefully he''l grow up and out it...if not, whatever...you gotta stick to yr guns..if YOU love it what does the rest of the world have to do with such personal taste & feelings. I like when, say, in the 80's if you wore black, invariably someone was gonna ask you if you were on yr way to a funeral... or get shit for wearing d.m.'s. HEY, I was so glad when the 90's came & no one attacked me anymore. about my clothes or hair or whatever. Get over it. Be yourself.

  • @WanderLink What does it matter where people heard good music from? I don't care if someone discovered the pixies because their co-conspirator in a murder-rape played it in the car on the way there. Good music is good music, get over yourself.

  • @WanderLink Lets be fair, It is only pathetic if they soley 'Love' one song from the entire band that came from the movie, Otherwise it is just a way for people to find out about good musicians.

  • @WanderLink

In their defense, fight club is a much better movie than twilight

  • @WanderLink no offense but fuck muse and twilight

  • @WanderLink

yeah cuz it doesnt matter if you like the band, just how you got into them! and twilight had a pretty good soundtrack lol so dont knock that part of it

  • @WanderLink pretentious sap. i first heard the pixies in fightclub and went out and got all their albbums, seen them twice and theyre one of my favourite bands. hate goons like you."you couldnt possibly be into ,say,nirvana..i was there maaan, sucking kurts left nut when he shot himself". fuck it, i listen to bands that dont even exist yet im so fucking cool

  • @WanderLink

Fight club was the shit. Great movie, how could you dissaprove of it because it had great ending credits? You don't make sense to me.

  • @hellofart16

that was one of the greatest endings ever

  • @DrSpaceman420 my comment or the movie? Either way, I agree with you.

  • @hellofart16 Dude... Don't talk about fight club.. That's like.. the first rule

  • @CoreyL11 and second

  • @hellofart16 You broke the first rule.

  • @WanderLink I hope they put this song in the next disney movie, or maybe like the sequel to Up, so you will rage harder

  • @WanderLink

    No offense but fuck you.

  • @WanderLink lol u only got the 78 thumbs up due to ur dumbass twilight reference, iv always listened to the pixies and watched fight club, one of the greatest movies out. u should just be called dumbass

  • goin on the 28th, WOO.

  • Smashing pumpkins aren't bad but they are a COMPLETELY different thing from the pixies

  • Aren't bad? Smashing Pumpkins are more than epic. And I don't use the word as kids do these days.

  • One of my favorite Pixies songs.

  • Won't you please fawn over me...

This band has always and still struck a chord with things going on in my life, and I bloody love them for that. Thank you Pixies.

  • You mean the smashing pumpkins sound like this. Dont disgrace the pixies by saying that.

  • either way means the same thing, i heard smashing pumpkins before i heard these guys.

  • smashing pumpkins are awesome, they're disgracing both them and the pixies

  • Nov. 4. 2009. CANT WAIT!

  • November 30th!!!! I'm freaking!! haha

  • I'll be there, too!

  • me too!!

  • many memories. =P

  • levitate me.......

    just love this song

  • cool song

  • How about this...

People like the type of music that sounds good to their ears? :D

Like audio taste buds, lets leave it at that.

  • If all is true won't you please run over me!?

  • Anyone who posts on youtube and tries to act like they know what they are talking about is an idiot, because obviously you know nothing about music. Dont like the beatles.... you are sad.

  • Dosnt that make you an idiot than?

  • Wow... just wow,

That was probably the most close-minded thing I've ever read.

  • this song is great because is simple
