May be after all, despite of your great singing your are know in the vocal coach business. If you are that suit's you fine, half of the job is to tell lies and joke's about the good old day's
So what's your name,Lovelytenor, you must be more gifted than Pavarotti,Domingo including this one if you are able to keep your voice as fresh as in young singer at the age of 64.There is a science called Biology, you know,do not delude young one's that it is possible such thing that 64 years old guy to sing like 30 years old.
I hear Carreras in his voice:) But when he gets up('round the passagio)he sounds different because he actually knows what to do there. And, it's pretty great that he's not wobbling all over the place for his age:) I saw him @ the MET 'bout 10 yrs ago do Turiddu...he was fantastic! Cura was Canio in Pagliacci...very disappointing! I also have the video of Aida w/Studer in the title role. The outfits were kinda space-age:( Made it real hard to take it seriously! But O'neil was still satisfying:)!
Hi I know Dennis very well 2 having heard him sing since the eary 1980s. He is a great singer one of the best that Wales and the UK has ever produced who sings all over the world. I even heard him as Pollione in Norma at Verona. He sings Manrico at WNO in October 2007 and Radames next June 2008. Not bad for a tenor over 60 with more than a 30 year career!
i know dennis and have seen him many times and met him. Even Italian singers i know say his Italian is immaculate. I have the Bellini CD and notice no such mis pronounciations. He is a fine tenor with intelligence and a wonderful technique
I just listened to his album of Bellini songs and it's atrocious. He even mispronounces his Italian, which is just about the worst thing you can do on a CD that you expect people to buy. Just horrible.
The Met should be courting them. The are absolutely the best. Fabulous!!

Denis O'Neil is world class. You could listen to this and imagine Pav, Domingo and Carreras in this role.
He could stand on a stage with any of those guys and with any of the great tenors of the last 30 years and not be afraid of them.
Sadly, much underrated. I saw him doing La Boheme at Covent Garden a few years ago and he was utterly brilliant.
Britain is very lucky to have a tenor like Denis - Wales is even luckier!

Well ... That can be called glorious singing in the Verdian tradition (esp. for E. Matos.) Thumbs up! Dennis is amazing for his venerable age.

Young tenors take note: you can keep your voice IF you're smart............I'm 64 & still sing like a kid.

He is very underrated and deserves to be better known. It should be illegal for sopranos and mezzos to wear heels on stage with a tenor.

Her voice is nice. He's alright, but I don't like many tenors outside of Pav.
