I like to think that it is referring to the death of ignorance before the mind becomes rigid an impervious to new ideas and change. i do not try and sound like KM89NASCAR89KM, but i believe that "i hope i die before i get old" means "i hope i die before i am no longer able to do the things in which were fun to me in the past" there are so many things that people can no longer do once they hit a certain age. i can get old, but as long as i am young at mind, i can do all things possible. no lie, but that quote is on the front of one of my journals.
