I have a young Bouvier 6 months , just had his ears clipped and I'm looking for a head brace to make his ears stand strait . Is that the kind of brace Oden has on in this video and if so where can I find one :0/ ... Thanks he's a great lookin dog :0)
@ampfiddler1 Oden is an adult & isn't wearing anything on his ears.. he had just had his head shaved earlier that day, which is why the top of his head & ears look funny. =]
You should be able to google for how to post a Bouvier's ears & find instructions with pictures. They are usually taped, with something on the inside of the ear to help support them &/or massaging them in an upright position. Good Luck!
My family had Bouves from Frank Walker a kennel owner based out of Detroit, MI. They had unbelievable stamina. I have worked with K-9s on the police dept. This would be my dog of choice in any confrontation, guarding my home and with kids. As for the bite force, when the Bouve locks onto something he doesn't let go. Even swinging a 125lb brute named Junior I was not able to shake him. Much faster than a rotwieler and stronger than the shepard and pit. It's almost like a bear without the claws!
For humor's sake, I'll leave your comment up. >X^D
Feel free to read my response below about this dog's job & what he may have to face some day -we are properly preparing him for real altercation. If he wasn't just getting more & more PO'd (if he lacked heart/commitment) , he'd back up away from the physical pressure & he wouldn't be fit to BE a Personal Protection Dog, so he wouldn't be trained as such.
Obviously, they dog is "all good" & WANTS to be right up in the fight.
The problem is that people seemed to have forgotten why humans even HAD dogs in the first place: they help us with our chores/hunting & protect us! This dog is bred from Police Lines & has been genetically-selected for this exact kind of work. We would never in a million years try to train a dog like this that wasn't capable.. it's a waste of time & just mean to the dog.
A properly-bred PP dog has this proper response to threat : it just makes him angry.
I knew Serious way back when he was still Karin's dog.. my S.O. imported/owned the KNPV male he goes back up to.
Have you seen his bellysister that Butch has? She's actually a better "raw" dog than Serious! (We worked/tested most of the litter when they were still pretty young.) Not saying he isn't a nice dog, mind you, she's just better. =)
sl429 I really like this video. I really love this dog. It a shame that show breeders don't take the time to make sure the proper temperment is as it should be. Where would one find a dog or a pup of this quailty? Thank you.
Odin was bred by us. We will be having a litter out of the sire of the dog in this video, out of my bitch Nessie (there's *many* videos posted of Ness working too).
Please feel free to contact me through my YouTube account if you'd like to learn more about the dog's personalities, drives, health testing results, pedigrees, etc.
I don't know, but even as an older dog who doesn't get worked much, Odin punches through the jacket & makes the decoys bloody. Neoprenes under the jacket are a must for taking bites off from him. >;^)
What can I say..? Your comment shows immense ignorance, & I mean "ignorance" in terms of not knowing what you are looking at.
We train Police K9, etc, dogs.. we produced Odin & we trained him until he moved in (at 3yrs) as a Personal Protection dog with the cop that's handling him in this video. If someone breaks into her home to harm her, the dog is going to face MUCH WORSE OPPOSITION -he HAS to be prepared & be able to work through some pressure -it's his JOB to save her life!

@soldier4life956 from what I've heard and seen their bite is stronger than a that of a pit-bull's and their teeth can be very long and sharp.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this video should be removed because of cruelty to the beautiful bouvier
