  • EF is amt of bld ejected with ea contraction. Basically, with a weak pump (aka: heart) there will be a decrease in cardiac output. Think of a "stretched out" balloon that is filled with H2O, if it is stretched out it will NOT recoil to it's orginal state therefore spilling out less

    H2O. However, if it is NOT stretched out it will recoil to it's orginal state spill ingout more water. I hope this explanation makes sense to you.
