Your wrong drink for drink is not a good way to tell if some one is equally drunk. There are a few factors. One is size of person drinking. Amount of fat in the body. Some what how use to drinking the person is. How healthy the liver is. How large the liver is to body mass.

Acting drunk there are more dependent on how often the one person body has had to cope with being exposed to booze. How sensitive the person is to the alcohol poising, then the other person.

I just heard in a sort of pop-evolutionary biology show, by Proffesor Robert Winston, and he basically said in so many words that back in the 15th and 16th centuries the water in England was close to toxic with cholora, therefore gin and beer were the drinks of choice, and naturally they got a resistance built in to breakdown alcohol quicker.

Hmm... Beer is about 90% water... Hangovers are mostly caused by dehydration... This is the kind of stuff that should be accounted for when 'busting' a drinking myth.
