I love to hear this wonderful man sing! What a gift from God. This is just beautiful. I grew up listening to him. I need to order all CD's since I no longer have albums of Merle.

I just cannot imagine why I had never heard "Always Wanting You" until last week! It fits a current situation for me and someone I met many years ago and whom it appears I shall never see again, in this lifetime. I can understand how Merle could have written this for Dolly! I've always been a great fan of hers as well.

GREAT song!! He wrote this for Dolly Parton. Apparently he called her at home in the middle of the night..after a few drinks..lol and sang it to her. She told him to record it and it went #1. Way to go Merle!!

@2007KB Yeah, you´re right. When he wrote this song he was madly in love with her, but she was married...shame...poor Hag...but brilliant song!!
