How about a dark ale that isn't actually stout? New Zealand's got a few of those, there's Speight's Old Dark, Monteith's Black, Black Mac, to name but a few.
Tui also makes a dark ale, but it's disgusting. Tui has a wonderful billboard campaign that has become iconic over the last few years, but it doesn't make up for the fact that their product is shite.
Oh yeah, the gesture isn't the peace sign, that's done with the palm facing outward. The "V sign" is an English variant of the mid digit salute, and these days is used as a mild form of it, when you're just playing rather than really meaning to offend someone.
There's a wonderful story behind it, which I think I'll discuss in a video. It's time I made a new one.
